You might have a sticking vapor management valve. It can pull vapor from the fuel tank while slowing and then not seal off causing a long decel stall. Disconnect and plug the vacuum hose leading to it to see if the issue goes away. Good luck... Ted

The RTM or it's connection could be the issue as it receives input from pats fobs and also from the TPMS. By using the back up slot you just bypassed the receiver, but it still could not process the tire pressure info. If the BCM was bad it still would not run... hope this helps
