You might have a sticking vapor management valve. It can pull vapor from the fuel tank while slowing and then not seal off causing a long decel stall. Disconnect and plug the vacuum hose leading to it to see if the issue goes away.

Do not disconnect the battery or try to read codes. Many times customers do this and inadvertently clear the system and the techs can't look at valuable freeze frame memory data information.

The RTM or it's connection could be the issue as it receives input from pats fobs and also from the TPMS. By using the back up slot you just bypassed the receiver, but it still could not process the tire pressure info. If the BCM was bad it still would not run... hope this helps
