I'm interested in the PP2 as well. Can someone help clarify the warranty for me?
The way I read it, Ford Performance warranties the parts if installed by an ASE tech.
All PPs are considered aftermarket.
The PP doesn't void the factory warranty for items not affected by the aftermarket parts...
I've read this before. Also read about people who changed to a one piece and still had the thud. Mine sound like the differential but the dealer mechanic is convinced it's in the tranny. Maybe it's different depending where the play is on a given car.
Been through the dealer - they know all about it. Ford says 'nothing to fix' so their hands are tied. We finally agreed that they'd fix it under warranty when the weak link snapped. It's not news to the dealer so it's not news to the factory. At 9k miles it's still there but I guess I'm more...
Dealer checked mine against spec and said I had 75% of the the max allowable lash. They don't deny the thud or that it is unusual for most cars. They just said it's normal for this particular car - no problem here....
I guess it depends on the situation. The noise is slightly annoying but no big deal. There's a lot of play in the differential input on mine. Yes, it's a Torsen but it still has a ring and pinion input. Slamming gears with 400+ HP can't be a good thing.
Not to hijack the thread but can you please elaborate?
My Torsen rear was thudding so bad I was afraid I'd strip the gears out. Enough slop to move the DS by hand and reproduce the thud. I took it to my dealer and the knuckleheads took the tranny apart. I doubt the tranny rebuild will...
Hi - Another new 2016 owner here!
Bob, in Maryland. I've had my GT PP fro 2000 miles now. Haven't driven a Mustang MT since the '66 3 speed that I learned to drive with. Surprisingly, Ford has managed to retain the same harsh clutch feel after 50 yeras - go figure :). So far, I put the...
