I've always ran Oil stabiliser/friction modifier even in my drive mostly diesels but my last gas build I was running 800HP on an LS3 vette ran it hard and dragged it at the track 3 days a week and never had any issues
Knocked out an oil change switch to royal purple and used Lucas Synthetic Oil Stabiliser.
Made the mistake of using a caliper paint kit. Wasn't the cool out (74) but the pain thickend on the brush as I was painting and it came out uneven and with brush marks. Never been great with hand painting...
