Figured I'd chime in. I'm running both the factory amp and a JL Audio amp.
I started with just a speaker swap to JBL 638's, 628's, and 329's. Minimal improvement.
I added the JL Audio amp (5-channel) to power the fronts and rears which are full range, along with the sub.
I took the line level...
i spoke with Corsa tech support and they said its basically trial and error to get it centered. I noticed my horizontal brace on the X-pipes wasnt perfectly level but they said its not an issue as long as the tips can be centered properly.
they say its best to do it on a lift with a 2nd...
Just installed my Corsa Sport Catback system this weekend. Great system, sounds killer, however I can't seem to get the polished tips to center properly inside the valence openings.
I used jacks to raise the mufflers on both sides to level everything out, but the tips both seem to wanna sit...
Ok,
well my Corsa instructions show anti-seize being applied on threads, however i did not find any in the packaging, and no mention of torque values in instructions
I don't see anything in the instructions as far as torque specs for the clamp bolts and X-pipe adapters. anyone have thes numbers to share? Also, do I need anti-seize on the bolts? If so, which grade? Nickel? Copper?
Thanks,
Gronk
I guess I'll try and give it a go myself, local shops wanting to much for install. I bought a 2nd set of Rhino ramps and gonna try getting it up on all fours to install
Looking for a quality Exhaust Shop in Winston Salem area to install my Corsa Sport catback system. I have the kit ready to install but was hoping to get it done locally on a lift without spending more than $100-150. Shouldn't take more than an hour with lift and air tools.

If you want to run aftermarket speakers and amp in all the factory locations up front you will have to go with a full component system using crossovers, otherwise you can use two- or three-way speakers in the woofer position and disconnect the factory mids and tweeters. You will still have a...
Be aware that the factory amp does sound processing to create the mid-range & tweeter signals, as well as the center channel on the dash. If you go with an external amp you will only have front and rear (L&R) line level signals to work with, that's why i suggested paralleling the fronts and mids...
After looking at the specs for the speakers you listed looks like all are 4- ohm with integrated crossovers so if the amp is 2-ohm stable you can parallel the fronts and use the HP filter in the amp to fine tune. Rears should be straight setup. You will have to disconnect the stock tweeters...
I did a similar installation recently with JBL speakers and a JL AUdio 6- Channel amp. I started out replacing all my speakers then deciding to add a sub so I got a RF Prime R1x12.
The problem you will run into is how to power all the front speakers. I've got JBL GTO628's in front which are...
I relocated the power ground cable to the bracket in the spare tire well, and sanded down to bare metal, now reading 1 ohm to battery (-) terminal, still have the high freq whine with engine running. Maybe try ground loop isolators next?
I'm measuring over 2 ohms from both the rear middle seat bolt and the bolt hole threads on the bracket in the spare tire well to battery (-) terminal. I have a calibrated Fluke 87 multimeter with quality test leads. Hard to find a good ground on these unibody vehicles!
A little background.
I have the 9-speaker Shaker system. I started out replacing all the speakers with JBL GTO638's in rear deck, GTO628's in front doors, and GTO329's for the mids. I disconnected the A-pillar tweeters since the 329's are two-way, and wanted to avoid impedance mismatch by...
I realize this is an old thread but for reference the wires doubled at pins 15 and 16 are not 12 V and ground but in fact are CANBUS wiring, which are communication signals from the head unit to the factory amp and to the ACM or PCM. you cant use these as a power source or you will mess up...
