I have a bolt-on Adam-tuned-E30 EBM and I like it, it's fun, but don't underestimate the 5.0 cars with just a few bolt-ons. I've ran a best of 12.6 @ 112 with mine in decent air. On the same day my buddy's '15 auto GT premium ran 12.0s at like 117, Lund E85 tune only on drag radials. So a '15...
I agree, I have the same. I'd like to try getting rid of the resonator with a y-pipe next year to add slightly more sound. The car performs very well as-is, IMO.
I think the small stock turbo and crappy head design contribute more to the lack of top-end power than the lousy factory intercooler. Even the full-bolt-on big intercooler stock turbo EB cars have the problem, albeit less so.
I'm running a MAP catless DP and factory catback, and I'm fairly happy with it. I'd like to try a resonator delete to add just a touch extra but still keep it tame.
Well, using a remote tune by someone who doesn't look at data logs when the potential exists seems asinine. I wouldn't do it.
'Here, use this tune. Should be fine. Let'er buck'.
No.
Just my opinion. You seem like a smart guy. There are plenty of tuners that are willing to read what the car...
I still think it's a good idea to send a current log to your tuner and have them look at it and send a revision if they feel it's necessary. It's free, and could potentially save your ass if something has changed enough to require a revision.
What I'm saying is that a 3.73 in my car, for example, would just make me go through the traps even farther past the power peak in 4th unless I were to shift into 5th, which I'm not doing. My drag radials are 25.6" tall (275/40-17) and it's definitely slower on the big end of the track with them...
Replace the plugs and log a pull to check to see if timing is being pulled, also check OAR to see if it's still at -1.0 like it should be. You could send the log to LMS to have them verify everything looks good.
I really don't think 3.73s will help at the track on a stock turbo car unless you're running tires that are WAY tall. With my 3.55s and street tires (27" tall) I go through the traps at around 6200-6300 in 4th, already way past the power peak. With my 25.6" DRs its up near 6600, no good at all...
My car ran 12.60 at 112 and I think there's a ton left in it. Full weight, E30, stock suspension, shitty DRs (only a 1.81 60'), no 2-step, no flat foot shifting, factory exhaust, good but not awesome DA (about +1000'). Full E85 and some practice, some good axles, much better tire, and I could...
It starts and runs perfectly on 30* mornings. So far so good. I don't think there's enough ethanol in it to affect the cold weather starting that much.
Yes, 3.55s. It's way out of gear in 4th with the short DRs I currently have. It's a lot better with my street tires which are 1.5" taller, I can feel it pulling a lot better on the big end.
I had some 295/45-17 M/T DRs and a full set of Racestars but I sold them. I went 1.70 on those.
Here's an update on my 2015 Ecoboost manual transmission car. It's a loaded heavy premium, stock suspension except for SR lowering springs, stock driveline. No weight reduction. My street wheels are 18x10 SVE Drifts with 285/40-18 Nitto 555 tires all around.

The rears will fit OK, but the front will like a small spacer to look proper, since the OEM GT500 wheels are +45mm offset. They should clear the struts without a spacer though....my 18x10 +43mm with 285/40 was close but not touching. I added 5mm spacers for a slightly better look and more strut...
