Took my '16 in to Ford for this last week. They diagnosed it as abnormal (after comparing it to another '16 auto on the lot) and replaced the entire driveshaft including front and rear flanges. No more noise.

+1 2016 auto with 3.55 gears. At 2,500 mi - also notice the clanking when shifting through gears when the transmission is in sport. Going to make an appointment with the dealer and include the info posted here.
