Exactly right. Oil prices are on the rise, and I think that Ford may well regret this decision. American auto manufacturers made the same mistake in the past, and it looks as though they learned nothing from it.
I agree, that the 18MY Mustang GT will not get DI. That won't happen until the S650 redesign. I do believe that it will receive a moderate power increase (455-460 hp/410-415 tq) which should be achievable with a more aggressive tune.
My prediction for the 18MY refresh are a more aggressive front fascia, changing the rear fascia to accommodate a quad exhaust (non dual mode), GT 350 style hood. All exterior lights will be LEDs. A power bump of 20-25 hp, and 10-15 ft. lbs. tq. Dual piston rear brake calipers will be standard...
It's past time to upgrade my current ride (94 sn95), and I have never negotiated a new car deal since I have been living in HI. Are dealers here willing to discount prices on new GT's? I would like to know what to expect when I go shopping. Mahalos.:ford:
I can say that I care for the hood, but it is an impressive car. Good to see how well the S550 is doing in Europe. Ford definitely hit a home run with this car.
