The DSP amp used has a low level signal output for the sub. There is a signal wire that is needed to be run from where the factory amp location to the the powered sub in the trunk.

Nizz55, you are correct on the crossover. The factory speaker had a cap and a coil, Cap for low frequency cut off and Coil for High frequency. without those you would be running a full range audio signal to the speakers and could end up blowing them. OEM Audio+ has a drop in speaker solution...
The radio will turn on when you press the radio power button and will play when the doors are open. There is a time limit, i want to say 15 - 20 minutes.
Yes, you can use an LOC with no speaker connected.
With regards to second questions.......you can run a LOC on the output to a factory Subwoofer amp. The better solution is to tap on the sub signal before the amplifier.

That's funny the rep said that, I have the first production set on my car. Bilstein installed them last November. They did the prototyping on my vehicle 2 year ago (9/16)and it took them a year to produce them.
