I think this car made 700 on 14psi, beefcake posted it. Nice et, makes me feel good about my 10.34 @ 135 with 3.8 pulley. I'm sure you'll keep chipping away at that ET
Basically you would need to run 4-5psi under what the pulley is actually rated for. Other wise you might as well just stick to the right pulley for your desired boost.
I agree! I should have track results very soon and I think it will be promising. My ride is pretty optimized so if it truly gives me the added torque I should see some nice 60' and overall ET gains!
I'm not holding my breathe on an extra 5mph like you but damn that would be crazy if it did...
Yup basically how it works, in my opinion it only works good if you're staying within 4-5psi of the 3.33 pulley which is about 10-13psi. I don't see if very beneficial to spin the blower close to max speed just to make 7psi. Don't think you'll see a huge gain in torque with something like that...
I referenced my vacuum source from the intake manifold so the gate valve reacts from the boost straight from the intake manifold and not post Intercooler. I have a manual boost controller in going to add inline with it for easy boost adjusting. Probably throw a 5psi spring in it.
Decided to make my own wastegate setup since I didn't feel like 700$ was really worth it for me. I come from the LSX world and using good quality budget wastegates is pretty normal on turbo cars. Turbos cars introduce ALOT of heat to a wastegate and they hold up fine where as a charge pipe from...
Quick google search you'll find the spring chart. I wouldn't ask us about retune I would ask your tuner. For what it's worth my tuner told me to do a log on the tune I already have and send it to him to see if it needs adjusting
Or go with a beefcake Paxton kit for literally half the price, make very similar power and still have 4K left over for cosmetic mods.
I think it's crazy that the whipple is so expensive and apparently makes a lot of power on the dyno with the supplied 11psi but o haven't really seen them...
