  1. New member, a few GT questions

In fairness to the GTI, basic models offer a lot of bang for the buck. For $20-22k the Golf TSi has the 1.8t and seems ok too. That's also a tunable platform. In researching the Mustang I also found a bunch of enthusiasts who'd rather drive the 6MT, even though the 6AT is arguably the better...

Wow interesting recommendation. A GTI is regarded as one of the best hot hatches around and the DSG is considered the best gearbox for that car. The DSG isn't a "slushbox" I'm not sure if you are taking a jab at the car or don't realize what a DSG is. Owning a Kia would be misery for me...

Wow, nice GT. Already paid off too! Looked at some GT's, the rear seat ain't gonna cut it. The car I get has to do road trip duty for our family of 3, getting dialed in on a 2016 GTI 4dr DSG right now. Pretty dang fast for a 4 banger and VW is basically "giving them away" right now. Thanks for...

Good advice. I have actually been "burned" once on a CPO car that had been wrecked on a lease. I'll check into whipple. I couldn;t believe that the ProCharger kit is only $5-6K! Oddly enough, the used GT's are at a Honda and a Nissan dealer, and both are listed at $29K, which I usually have...
  5. Mustangs and south africa

Doesn't surprise me. Ford owned Mazda during the production of the Protege5. Must be using the same marketing firm the last 13 years!
  6. Well this sucks

I've had a few accidents in the last 5 years: -diminished value, this is a tough one. The way it works is that the burden of proof is on you. You need to sell your car in the near future. The record of accident, however the new buyer learns of it, needs to cause a reduced selling price. THEN...

I used cars.com, came up with 63 GT's in a 75 mi radius. Only a few were 6AT, and only one was a 6AT Base. The others were Premiums. I did find 2 used 2015's with under 6K miles, they are Premiums also, but they are in my color choice and 6AT.

Thanks guys. I am pretty stoked, probably gonna go test drive one this weekend. I just received my insurance quote for the GT, it is no more expensive than my truck or Prelude...must be because I am getting "old"!! Never thought the day would come that I could own a high HP car and not pay...

Single digits in town? Yikes. Maybe I need to reconsider a SC.
  10. New member, a few GT questions

Hi all, I just joined this site after a week or so of browsing and researching. I have set it in my mind that a base model Mustang GT 6AT with 3.15 is a car that I am seriously considering. So I have a few questions that I hope the members of this site can help me with. Most of these questions...
