    Generally speaking, if the temperatures are consistently below 45 degrees, you'd want to be looking for snow tires. It's less about snow depth and more about temperature malleability of the rubber compounds.

    Yup, totally understand. TireRack told me that the 0.7" difference in rear tire diameter may cause the traction control system to engage more often as the wheel speed would be 25 odd rotations per mile less than expected. Not sure I believe it... Even if that was the case it's just more...
