I have cleared the suspicion out. It was simply caused by cold engine.
Back in October when temperature was mild I didn't have the patience to wait for my car to fully warm up, and the slope is located quite close to where I live, so the engine was fairly cold when going down the slope. I reckon...
IS300 is a good car, and 22 local mpg isn't bad for a sporty sedan came out 15yrs ago. I almost got a used one myself if it hadn't been sold before I got there.
I am just curious why my stang is showing a high gas burning rate while DFCO should have kicked in. It's either an algorithmic error...
I was referring to the requirement for DFCO. When rolling downhill at 30mph in 2nd gear the RPM stays above 3000, so DFCO should be engaged as my foot isn't touching the gas pedal.
How would you compare them to the stock ones?
I dunno why but most GT-PP-compatible rims are in 8.5/9.5, 8.5/10, or 9/10 sets. The 9/9.5 sets I can find are much rare and expensive, including the ones offered by Ford. How dare Ford charge 400+ for a single rim with 30+ pounds of metal? :frusty:
I am getting 13~14 locally and I don't mind it at all. I like the engine/exhaust sound above 4k rpm and I am willing to give some gas for that.
But I do want my good gas burnt for a good reason. If Deceleration Fuel Cutoff impedes performance then let the gas flow. :D
The car has a...
My ride is 2015 GT PP and its MPG looks awful under engine break. There is a 1000ft downhill slope from my home to work place, and the MPG reads ~13 when the car goes downhill at 30MPH in 2nd gear. The slope is so steep that I have to hit the brake to hold the speed. 3rd gear gives ~25 MPG and...
Looking for winter wheels and the cheapest on Tirerack is Axis sport XQ 19x8.5 front & 19x9.5 rear. They are 5~6 pounds lighter than the stock ones, which makes me wondering if I should put summer rubber on them instead. My car is 2015 GT PP.
I did visit the dealer and ask them to take a look at it. They told me it's normal and let me test drive another car to clear out my doubts. Yes the other car makes the same noise.
Thanks for the reply. I hate to keep the engine at low RPM but sometimes I have to for example driving in a traffic jam.
I made some discovery today. The noise has something to do with the stick collar. The noise will vanish as soon as I lift the collar up at 1st or 2nd gear. I haven't figured...
I just bought a new 2015 Mustang GT with performance package. Everything stock. Since I got the car, I have noticed that there is a noise from approximately where the transmission is located. It sounds like spinning a cap on a jar, or dragging a rusted pipe on cement floor. It is audible when...
