I agree they were quite bad from the beginning but near the end they got so bad that I could hold a silent drift around a turn for like 5-7 seconds with 1/3rd throttle! That's after rolling on it!
Please read the complete post before jumping to conclusions and commenting on my driving skills and my intellect for comparing A/S to Summer tyres, thank you.
TL DR: Stock tyres slipped so much even normal driving set off ABS and TC. New tyres don't set off TC even at 60% throttle in 1st gear...
Hey OP, I'm glad you're OK! Please make double sure that your back is OK too, if it feels a little tweaked or you feel slightly numb in one leg or the other, it's time to go to a doctor!
I made a huge mistake in 2009, I got sideswiped by a guy running a red light at high speed and hit me on...
I started the original thread about this: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35531
I've experiemented with this a lot. A 50% sure-fire way to replicate this is to turn off your car and not open any door or press any button or do anything. Sit there for about 30 minutes and start...
First ever really powerful car!
'99 Toyota Corolla -> '09 Subaru Legacy -> '15 Mustang GT :)
I really think that traction control should be more aggressive in Normal mode. The amount of sideways 'fun' it allows makes for a very scary ( and exciting) first month of ownership!.
Maybe...
Do not add power in a turn and gently step on the gas especially if the road surface is worn / slick. I've had many mini heart attacks in the first few weeks of ownership. This car is not very forgiving if you lead-foot it.
As I said all the way back between pages 10-20, I've had a Subaru that had the exact same thud, just as strong and it was a rock solid transmission, used it for almost 200k miles and never gave me any problems!
But if your thud is getting worse and showing up in gears when it wasn't there...
Hi, I've had my car for 3 months now (GT Premium MT) and I've never noticed this. Can you (safely) make a video of this happening? Does this 'pause' happen over/under certain RPM?
I guess I just joined the club.
My easy/exit stopped working and wouldn't work for 4 start-stop cycles after that so I tried saving a new seat position as memory number 1, no dice. It just wouldn't accept, no matter how long i pressed it. 1, 2 or 3.
Went into settings, turned off easy...
Glad you're OK, OP! Had something similar happen to me yesterday as well but there was nothing I could do (no shoulder). Land Cruiser being inattentive when a Corolla suddenly braked to a stop for no reason in front of him (?!!!) He instinctively jerked to the left where I was. Thankfully he...
This. Coming from a sub-200 HP Subaru, I was not expecting this level of "fun" with the traction control on. Let's just say it was a pulse-raising first week of ownership.
Makes sense, thanks a lot!
Was just wondering if anyone out there has had any similar gremlins. Mine has happened only once in 4 months of ownership and hasn't returned.
Just like every other day, got into the car, started it up and immediately noticed that the seatbelt chime sounded way too different. Very tinny and close, as if coming from the instrument cluster.
Thought it was just me and drove to work. Backing into the parking spot, the reverse sensor...
So at first I was like, what's this guy talking about and then I went out and did some trial runs in 1st and 2nd gear.
Yep it's delayed. By about a second or so. I'm pretty sure all of the cars I've owned till now (all manuals) have had this and the Subaru had the rev hang.
Mine's very moody. Once it was in the mid 11's! Most of the times it's between 13.0 and 13.5. A few times 13.7 and at others in the 12's.
Has started up without a problem so far (1 month, 1000 miles).
Hi Guys, took delivery of my TY GT last WEdnesday morning. It has the thud but so did my '09 Subaru Legacy. The exact same thud, in the exact same circumstances that all of you describe. And its drivetrain is still working like a champ after 180k kilometres (111k miles). So I'm not worried, yet...
