I replaced my thermostat Sunday. But before I did, on Saturday I took my car for a 20 mile drive thru town and on the highway. It was 80 degrees outside Saturday. My Head temps were 208-210. On Sunday morning I replaced the thermostat with a Reische 170. I used the gallon ziplock bag method to...
I also did the top for my JLT. I also put weatherstrip on the top of it so when the hood is shut it pushes down on the weatherstrip and makes sure my homemade top is secure and snug. In addition to that, I used weatherstripping around all the openings that air can get into the filter box from...
I really liked the torque of the gt500, but then again i had just over 600 rwhp in that car. However, driving it and driving my 15 GT.... I would take the gt all day long. The ride is just that much better. The interior is better in the GT the GT cost less and for a good 5-6k i can have over 600...
I made 410/376 on a dynojet in 70 degree heat with 80% humidity with a daof +1500 last week with my Bama Tune. JLT intake and mrt resonator delete with stock exhaust.
I wanted to chime in with my experience with this issue. My car is a 15 GT PP and i have jlt intake and an hpipe. I ran the car stock for about 1000 miles. Never had an issue. THen I put the parts on and a bama tune and drove another 1000 miles with no issues. I decided to run a different tune...
I have to say BAMA and American Muscle have been nothing but prompt and fast with my tunes and parts I have ordered from them. I have the lifetime tunes and had them modify my tune and had it quickly and it was spot on!. I also have tunes from another Vendor on here that has been a terrible...
I plan on cleaning up those edges. What dust cover are you referring to that you removed? Also do you see more hood movement at hwy speeds? Did you just drill the honeycomb on the right side or did you drill out some on the main opening as well?
Did you remove the shroud? I removed the hood blanket before putting the lid on the JLT and the temps went up even faster I thought. Needless to say, I put it back.
When the heavy rain is over in a few days, I'll test with the lid on.
I have my cover done now. It cost about $15. I went to lowes for the plexi glass, and advanced auto for the weatherstripping. Took me about 20 mins to drill the honeycombs and about that long to make the cover. I can't go test it yet because of the heavy rain for the next few days. I will let...
VMP Tuning has their tunes for $125 on their website. If someone is looking for a good deal on a tune, that's another place to go. VMP is a well know company.
Vinny, It would be nice to have the option to take the cover off of the intake for track or "spirited driving", and leave it on to keep temps down during normal driving.
I will be drilling out those honeycombs for sure!!
JLT really needs to come out with an intake cover for those people in hot climates. I also saw my temp climb to 170 degrees while in heavy bumper to bumper traffic. I will be visiting Lowes or Home Depot this weekend and getting some plexiglass and weatherstripping in the meantime.
