I think it will be capable of that (or more), but would be surprised to see that much power straight from the factory with a warranty. Time will tell how hard they were willing to push it.
If it can do that in the hands a of pro driver, that will be pretty amazing. In the initial release, I thought they said the Carrera S was their benchmark rather than the GT3 (which would be reaching pretty high, IMO). Either way, I imagine it will surpass the capabilities of 99% of drivers...
The R package comes with the additional cooling equipment also included in the track package. You could be correct that they have tailored the opening to the additional cooling equipment. Time will tell.
I agree that on the production cars, I can't see the cost effectiveness of implementing 2 different openings. However, I was referring to the visible differences noted in the pictures on the previous page. I suspect those are 2 different candidates for the final production version.
To my eyes, the radiator opening on the R is wider, but the opening on the non R (yellow car) is taller. On the yellow car, the opening extends down closer to the bumper and does not have the "hump" in the middle. I tried counting the number of hexagons over each opening to estimate the area...
Just my 2 cents. If you like the appearance of stripes, go ahead and get them from the factory. The stripes on my 2008 Shelby are very well fitted and high quality IMO. I can't really give great insight on the durability as a DD since mine has lived a rather sheltered life, but if they do...
Something very interesting in the article on SVT is that the pump and plumbing for the oil coolers are cast in to the transmission, and cars not equipped with coolers from the factory will come with a different transmission that does not have the plumbing cast in. If true, that will make it...
In that scenario, the engine should be turning around 5100 RPM. With the relatively long stroke of the 5.2 (especially for a FPC) I think you'll still have plenty of torque at those kinds of revs.
It is my impression from reading on the GM sites that they were working on a high output NA engine for the Z06, but were having trouble getting it to pass emissions at the power levels needed. Thus, the LT4 was born as a viable alternative. GM's 'problem' (if you want to call it that) is that...
Yep, just as many had suspected from the leaked order guide. Good catch. Most useful post in the thread thus far.
Lip spoiler is tech pack (and base model I think). Track pack gets the big spoiler. R comes with the wing.
Personally, not a fan of the color, but to each their own. It seems...
The Ferrari 458's 4.5L V8 uses a 94mm bore and 81mm stroke. The Speciale version at 597 hp, 132.7hp/L, is the most power dense NA engine on the current market, to my knowledge. Like someone else posted, if something were to be changed on the Voodoo, I would rather see a reduction in stroke...
The only thing I'm aware of that Ford has announced regarding a DCT in one of their products is a 7 speed Getrag in the 2017 Ford GT. Hopefully it will make its way into some other models, but I doubt we'll see that until after the GT is released.
