They're K2 Power 2 ways. The factory woofer had a moulded plastic baffle built into the speaker itself.
The mdf baffles can be traced off 1 of the old speakers and knocked out pretty quickly. Gives a nice solid mounting point to produce great lows from the fronts.
Doors also had a bit of sound...
I don't sorry, however I did take a handful of progress shots.
MDF Door pod
K2 tweeter, just absolutely made to fit! Fits into existing clips if you push hard enough.
Boot layout coming together
Finished door
Boot (still needing a vacuum)
Inside (still need to tidy up 12V remote wire...
I've just fitted all Focal gear to my 2016. I wired RCA's from the front to my amps whilst I waited for the AudioControl Matrix Plus to arrive. The signal sucked, had mild hiss with volume at zero. At full volume, the system wasn't that loud. Have just installed the audio control under the...
I agree they suck, but the ridiculously tiny magnet would mean it's a neodymium magnet. They just do magnet stuff a lot better than the traditional ferrite type. It would of been interesting to hear if the standard stuff sounded any better with just the amp upgraded before I swapped out all the...
Sure thing, here's the blow by blow.
- Bonnet release handle. Needle nose pliers to pinch two clips in the centre, it pops off pretty easy.
- lift upwards the panel beside the passenger seat (not the mustang one, the one covering the carpet.
- wiggle the kick panel out, has a few clips. A few...
I upgraded my stereo with focal stuff. Sounds great now.
I used;
Front - Focal K2 splits
Rear - Focal Coaxials
Sub - Focal 13" 33V2
Amp 1 - Focal 4x75wrms
Amp 2 - Focal 1.800wrms
- Factory amp was in the passenger side floor. (behind ya toes, not in kick panel)
- Power wire to battery can...
There's one mob here that's like the white van scam of exhausts. Website has 1 price, but will show up on ebay for half. They are 'Aussie' but made in china, and they have major fitment issues. Granted the coyote is light years ahead of LS? in the noise department, but when you're forced to...
Damn I thought these were made in America?
Xmas 2017 would be on a helluva slow boat from China with my build date of Nov 30th 2015. I'm around order #1000 so certainly won't be one of the first.
Hi David, I'm very interested to hear an Australian tuners perspective on the new engine management system in the '15. It seems no tuning software (hptuners + the rest) available to workshops has decoded every variable yet. The overall feel from this site is the one's who claim to have access...
Haha would you believe no-ones ever said 'mad V10 beemer' but the Ute always gets the comments even here :ford: and it shares 99% of its architecture with the local choice of taxi-cab
If your import laws were a little more lax, you could have one landed over there for about $5k USD...
Thanks again Harry, extremely informative as ever. It's a great help.
Just for future readers benefit, *
The pin # drawings are a view from the plug side, and not the loom side, correct?
* I'm Australian, could you please make it even simpler!
Thanks for the writeup Harry. I'd started researching how to get RCA out a couple of months ago with no luck, so to see it's possible is a great relief.
I've ordered a molex connector to suit, and I'm just wondering, will the pin numbers be printed on it? In the absence of a delivered car...
