I use to put in an oil additive, TX7, but after watching The Oil Geek no more additives for me. So your was better than mine!

If you want to save money I would say use any name brand synthetic oil, a bit higher viscosity due to turbo heat, and change it and filter a lot. Like every 3,000 miles max. But, that's just me.
