You can set the parameters so it will not give full timing until some set percentage of E. So filling up with 93 and flooring it will not cause an issue since the fill triggers a learn condition, and everything resets to the gas settings until it locks in.
It's amazing how much control we have...
That is the easy way. Done right the flex logic from Ford is outstanding.
Gen 3 offers many ways to dial it in. Search this forum and you will find several from engineer mike, mejohn mark murfie and some others who have given very good instructions on how to use the logic.
No you can't use SCT, you need a cable.
Forscan is free to download and free to use

For some reason the 17's have an issue with tune flashing. I have seen several throw the steering codes. My fix is to use forscan or Ford's IDS and reset all the modules.
Tires are all in the low 120F range after a short 5 mile ride. The temps are even across the tires.
Seems a bit high to me, but they are sticky. Not hot enough to pick up rocks.
I can get temps from these but I do not have any data from the old tires. I only thought to put my hand on them because I smelled rubber like a race tire after some laps. I could easily hold my hand on them, so could a kid. But they are really warm.
Everything checks out. The last few sets of road tires I have had ran cooler. But they didn't stick as well either, I may need to make some stay bar adjustments.
Not race car tire hot but definitely warm to the touch. Contact patch is flat according to the tracks through water. Dash says 32 psi which is what the door says.
Warmer than I expect for a 10 mile ride.
This shop knew the proper torque spec for the lugs and I watched them put the wrench on the bolts.
I wish I had the tools to install and balance tires. When I was younger I was taught to line up the dot with the valve stem, I never see this on any tire and when I ask they look at me with deer...
20 weight oil is not for engine protection, it is for CAFE mileage.
Ford Specs 5w-50 in the Boss and some other engines, so I run that or 5w-40 depending on the season.
