  1. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

On the ground and driving again! Went back to square 1 with the tune so I can learn to tune beyond just transfering tables. What I have found is that a stock coyote tune actually runs the Godzilla pretty well. Speed density from a 7.3 and VCT disabled are really the two key things that need to...
  2. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Drivers side tac welded. Just need to final weld it. Then it's onto the mid-pipe.
  3. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Have not made the heat shield yet! Thats next on the list. Both the headers and intake are in the "prototyping" phase so final product will be cleaner, but these will work for the time being.
  4. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Certainly not a professional welder so that may indeed be the case even with stainless wire being used. The areas you see are lower surfaces of the weld that were not touched by the grinder. I didn't want to take away too much material for fear of thinning out the tube/weld. Proper way to do...
  5. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Passenger header installed CAI also mocked up! Yes that is a JLT intake spliced in with a 07 GT500 intake. The 07 intake is a smaller diameter than the JLT so the future plan is to 3D print a similar part but with a diameter that matches the JLT. Just need to make a heat shield now.
  6. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Yours truly. These are the ultimate headers that I cut apart and reconfigured. I went with a Tri-Y setup for the ease of maintenance (the header is 3 separate parts which can be removed individually), and space savings between the frame rails and engine.
  7. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Well the LTs didn't work out... Not enough clearance... Enter custom tri-y headers.
  8. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

MBRP Race with Long Tubes. (Warm start)
  9. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

To say these LT headers have been a gigantic pain in the a** would be the understatement of the century... Had to tear apart most of the engine bay to install them along with several modifications to the headers themselves to clear basic things like the control arms and frame rails. Re-routed...
  10. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

321 stainless so no need to.
  11. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Fun filled week! (and by fun I mean a gigantic pain in the a** for the headers thus far...)
  12. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Depends on how you define finalized... I have a tune that runs the 7.3 like a 7.3 (as opposed to a modified coyote tune) with transmission tuning at an acceptable level now (shift tables had to be tweaked for the lower redline). I need to figure out this WOT lean condition though as it pulls a...
  13. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

I have actually been driving it daily for the past few weeks! From a personal preference standpoint, I will be swapping out the exhaust and coilovers over the next few weeks. Exhaust drones a bit to much so the mufflers will be getting swapped (borla pro XS most likely). The coilovers are not...
  14. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

AC charged and works! The AC system from a mechanical standpoint is 2006 spec with the compressor and hard lines (no variable compressor, no expansion valve) From an electrical standpoint it’s 2018 (one pressure sensor and an evap core temperature sensor) Working great! (So far…)
  15. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Ok putting this out there... Does anyone here happen to have a 2023+ F250 7.3 (needs to be 2023 and up) and an HPT device? I am looking for the stock tune from a 2023 7.3. 2023 and up models use the bullitt throttle body. I am in the process of rebuilding the tune to run the 7.3 as a 7.3...
  16. Bullitt or GT350 Throttle Body?

Not exactly... Physically yes, electronically no. If your car is a 2016 and already has the TB then it is a GT350 TB. Bullitt TBs are for 18+ electronics.
  17. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Working on completing the dash trim. 3D printed dash caps covered in vinyl to start. The top of the dash is going to be the challenging part...
  18. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

Wow that’s way more expensive than I was expecting… Aftermarket it is!
  19. S197 Hybrid - 2006 Mustang with S550 guts

I don't have stock mounts so the engine does not move much at all. The clearance should be more than adequate. And it actually does not. The hood on the S197s are pretty solid.
