Haven’t priced it out yet but I’m hoping to keep it around the $70 range, maybe a bit more since the tooling to make everything was around $400.
Kit will include an oil pressure sensor.
I am making a harness and going to sell them, just in the process of getting everything to make oem+ quality.
The only hard part is moving the pin on the ecu connector but if you are patient shouldn’t be too hard
I think all the info is in the thread including part numbers and connectors needed but I’ll give you a rundown.
For the oil pressure switch it is a 1 wire connector that goes directly to a dedicated pin in the ecu.
The oil pressure sensor needs 3 wires. One for a voltage of the oil pressure...
Yep it works great! I don’t have the performance pack gauges or digital dash but I can read the oil pressure via my ngauge and confirmed that it works.
As far as the single wire, that wire goes directly to a dedicated pin for the ecu. What I did is moved the wire to another pin for the ecu...
Haven't looked into the plug for the gauges to interface with the canbus system. Why the best answer you can find is "some have it some don't" is weird.
I may look into it and see how you could wire up one or a more definitive answer on cars that will have it and cars that dont.
Do you want the gauges to “work” or actually work. Non performance pack mustangs do not come with an oil pressure sensor, so even adding the gauges the best result is an interpreted oil pressured based off of cylinder head temp and rpm.
From my understanding you will still need a tune to get...
Sorry for the long wait, finally got the correct connector. Its not the OEM connector but it is a bosh connector so I have no worries. I will probably switch to the OEM one when they become available later as they are cheaper.
I have almost everything to start building a harness, I just need to...
Will do. I've got all the parts delivered or on order for the most part and just need to figure out wire sheathing.
Trying to make these oem+ quality. I think I've spent close to $400 in tools and another $200 in parts haha. If they don't sell at least I learned a lot.
Wanted to provide an update on the status.
Got some wire on order.
Having trouble finding a cheap connector for the oil pressure sensor. When I mean "cheap" I mean the connector sold through a reputable supplier that buys directly from the manufacturer. I can only find websites that sell the...
Working on making a “profesional” grade version. Buying the proper tools, connectors, wire, and crimping. Still need to get some more parts in but when I get everything and am able to make some harness I’ll reach out to everyone who’s responded here and on other threads about it.
I played with it for a few hours and couldn’t get it to do anything. Had people with the gt350 say theirs didn’t output an exact psi either so I am assuming it doesn’t have the programming for it
Someone sent me their tune and asked me not to share their exact tune. I haven’t been able to analyze the differences and why mine was throwing codes. It isn’t perfect and needs work, just haven’t had any time lately to dive into it. Are you using pcm tec?
Yes I’ve seen people change the tune and get an inferred output. The problem is the inferred pressure is just that, inferred. The car uses cylinder head temp, rpm, and load (I assume) to calculate the oil pressure. The problem is this won’t show you an accurate pressure and will never let you...
Digital dash should show the oil pressure once the kit and tune are installed (still need to verify). The non-digital dash does not have the programming to output the oil pressure psi only low/normal.
