Consider this... 64,000 members? almost 4 million posts?
I'm not sure any other forum for any one generation of vehicle has this many members??? It's actually quite amazing for a ten year old car to have that many forum members.
I think the only comparison would be vwvortex, but that is...
Bruv... I had the first JVC 12 disc MP3 changer. The AMOUNT of music I could listen to was amazing... game changer. Took like 25 seconds to change a disc tho. :)
... and the little remote that came with it. Awesome. I couldn't afford the Nakamichi or Kenwood stuff but I did what I could...
I didn’t see what Province you are from, but in Ontario OMVIC is the regulator to vehicle sales. I’m sure each other province and territory has an equivalent.
OMVIC has teeth to make things right. Just mention it and be prepared to tell the dealer what you want. Be prepared to go and tell the...
This is my understanding as well. My buddy had a ZL1 with the 10 speed and on the street and track had nothing but positive reviews.
I’ve also heard some internal components of the Ford version is different. I know a Ford tech who almost exclusively repairs these - instead of replacement for...
Black rear caliper is for PP1 (PP2?) cars... Don't know if it is actually different other than colour, but the PP1 rear pad is slightly wider than non PP1...
I did a trans mount insert and the vibration was unbearable. Even tried the small corners of it in there only and, same thing. Took it out almost immediately.
Drove an MT82-D4 with an MGW shifter and it felt nearly as close to my T56 with a B&M ripper.
This sucks. Removing PPF is NOT easy. I've PPFd three cars now, and the installer is key, and it's not the shop, or the company, it is the particular installer. One person and their expertise and experience. I really hope you get this resolved to your satisfaction.
Really appreciate this post! I've recently been checking out M2s, and wonder about your comment than the S650 soaks up bumps on par with the M2. My understanding is that S650 front suspension is very close to S550 (double ball joint), so I wonder how they've tuned this to be better? Unless...
Granted this is in Canada, but I literally bought the cheapest 18" tire for a daily (Motomaster Canadian Tire brand) and it lasted 32,000 kms (20,000 miles). Expensive lesson learned.
This is all good advice. I took my 5.0 badges off and had an ecoboost front fender cut on the plotter (not 5.0 cutout) then pierced the PPF where the 5.0 badge went and installed a new one over top (went from chrome to flat black anyway) so there was no outline in the cut over those badges...
It is a game changer for protection and yes it covers a lot of imperfections. (I've done multiple cars, generally newer though). The installer is KEY to how great the outcome. Ask for references and look at the vehicle closely and talk to the owner. Owners that PPF cars are generally pretty...
Can't speak to rotors, but for the pads I've tried Z23, Z26 and Z16. The Z16 is very low dust, no noise and feels almost identical on the street to the OEM Ferodo. Amazing value for the price. ('21 PP Brembos)
I'm always a fan of an OEM rotor. Unless you've gouged the heck out of the rotor...
I had a mechanic who had a 69 Mach1, 2012 Boss 302 and an S550 Mach 1. He said *hands down*... the Boss was the most raw, most engaging muscle car feel when compared to the S550 Mach. He said that it felt like it was actually faster as well. He really really liked his Boss 302.
I heard mice don't like much sound, so I keep a radio playing medium volume in the garage. Also those high frequency mouse things (not sure how effective they are). Haven't had a problem, and we are in the country where there are lots of mice.
