  1. Inspection at oil change finds a leaky (slight leak) oil pan gasket--service guy says the fix will cost $1300. Accurate or BS?

Car details: 2016 EB with 72K miles--has run like a clock since we bought it new. According to the service guy at Indy shop, to replace the gasket, the engine must be lifted off the engine cradle to provide access to taking the pan off. $1300 to replace a $20 part--is this true? The leak...
  2. Radio/CD screen on base '16' EB has gone black--pressing power button does nothing--help!

Drove the car for a 1/2 hour this afternoon--no issues with radio, screen displayed outdoor temp and no suggestion there was a problem. Came out 2 hours later--started the car and the screen is black/ pressed the power button repeatedly nothing.shifted into reverse, no backup picture. Gauges...
  3. Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 or Blizzak WS90

+1 on the WS90. Have had them on our '16' EB for winter driving since we got the car in late'15'; Terrific snow traction, decent ice traction, long wearing --7/32 with over 25K of winter driving--and fairly quiet on the road. I've added about 60lbs of extra ballast to the trunk and this car just...
  4. OE shocks on 2016 EB at 70K miles starting to feel weaker, ride getting louder--what are my options for a DD?

Thanks for all the replies. I should have added that I'd like to retain the stock F&R springs so any choice of shock would need to work with those springs
  5. OE shocks on 2016 EB at 70K miles starting to feel weaker, ride getting louder--what are my options for a DD?

The ride has felt soft since day once but now it sounds louder on bumps. Running on Mich.a/s 4 tires. Thinking about a shock change for strictly street driving--what are my options? Anything else to think about changing out? The car tracks straight w/o and vibration... Thanks in advance for any...
  6. Found a used mustang that I like but the interior has issues--ceramic colored seats over black. Options?

Thanks for all the replies. Agreed---the multi shade interiors don't work for me, but I can see a complete one color interior in this shade working nicely, especially in a rag top.
  7. Found a used mustang that I like but the interior has issues--ceramic colored seats over black. Options?

The car is a premium coupe with the options I like but the seat colors are just odd. What's the most cost effective way to get rid of the dumb color seats and get a black set that will match the rest of the interior? Thanks for any help in advance.
  8. All Season Tyres

I've had the A/S 4s on for nearly 2 years, using them to drive all year round after switching from a combo of GYAsym A/S and Blizzaks. The Mich.A/S 4 is a great summer tire--quiet and good traction wet or dry. In winter it provides solid traction to at least 30deg F and handles light snow...
  9. Questions on the wiring harness/rear camera recall

I had the car in a month ago for the dealer to take pictures of the harness and to order the parts, I pressed them on the question why were pictures needed and they said there were several types. I check in with them this week and they said nothing had come in and they had no expected delivery...
  10. All season tires

+1 on the AS4 tires. I replaced GY Asym. A/S OE tires--which wore well, but were marginal in the wet--with the AS4 and have no regrets. Firm ride, reasonable quiet, great traction dry or wet--very confidence inspiring.
  11. I hate the Pirelli P Zero Summer Only tires...

Have had the PS A/S 4 on for 9 months and like them a lot. Very good wet/dry traction, steering response, form ride and noise is OK. As the temps have dropped the last few months traction is still solid. No snow experience yet.
  12. Best source for stock '16' EB replacement rotors and pads

After sorting out a bogus inspection from my dealer on replacing thr rear rotors/pads on the car, looks like I'll have to do the fronts probably in the next 6-12 months. Had the rears done in 2019 and the shop put on rotors with unpainted hats--the rust on them now looks bad enough that I want...
  13. Another A/C question

Just tested it with a meat temp probe--the three middle vents were right around 43 deg. in a hot car with ambient temps around 80.
  14. Another A/C question

Had our "16" EB to the dealer for an oil change and to check the AC--which seemed not as cold as it might be. A few hours later I got the call--refrigerant level was full, tested for leaks- found none, vent temp was mid 40's but the ambient temp was only 70. Yesterday, out for a drive with the...
  15. Second set of rear brakes on 2016 EB done at 6K miles?

I haven't smelled anything after driving but I'm going to take off a wheel and measure the rotor thickness and pad thickness for myself. The rt rear rotor--the one with the pad at 3mm reportedly--visually doesn't look worn and doesn't have much of a lip on it that I can see with the wheel on. If...
  16. Second set of rear brakes on 2016 EB done at 6K miles?

Thanks for the replies. BTW, do you know what the stock thickness of pad material is on new rear brakes? Also, what's the thickness of of the rear rotor (non-PP)
