First mods to your Mach 1

Now that we know the car has a threaded tow hook receiver, best bet might just be an insert that holds the plate

My New Mach 1 is in the garage.

This is true, but this is where vigilance from the consumer also comes in. Build and price, IIRC, is an outsourced product and is not directly created by Ford. However, the order guide is the OFFICIAL literature from Ford outlining the details of their vehicles. If it isn’t on the order guide...

My New Mach 1 is in the garage.

Eh, I think there are multiple points of failure on this. Ford definitely should have their build and price tool running optimally, but it’s also the buyer’s responsibility to be well educated on the product they’re purchasing. Ultimately, I think the dealership should’ve been able to give him a...

Because it’s still suboptimal But being “good enough for you” still doesn’t change the fact that it’s not special and that any Mustang can relatively easily be made to perform just like a GT350 with little work, and that’s the whole point of this conversation

Yes, Ford’s build site has been wrong since they got it up and running. That’s why OP ended up ordering the wrong car

No, the $395 upgrade wheels are the same size as the base wheels. Handling package isn’t yet an option on build and price, but can currently be ordered through the dealership

And this here is my exact problem with it. You have cars like BMW M-cars and Porsches and such that truly have unique upgrades that would require a high level of engineering prowess, mechanical knowledge, and tooling to even try to replicate, and it still probably won’t be 100%. You know, they...

    Mach 1 underbody/exhaust setup pictures

I highly advise against Powerstop if you plan on doing any track work at all. I had a brand new set of powerstop pads disintegrate on me in less than 1 lap on Nurburgring, and haven’t trusted them since Brake dust is bound to happen with any well performing pad. I recommend going the ceramic...

Here, I’ll put it this way so you guys can understand... If you did a Shelby brake swap on a GT (which means transferring spindles/LCAs), reflagged the EPAS and driver assist modules, and had both that car and the GT350 on the same upgraded coilovers, sway bars, and bushing kit (because yes...

Ah yes, brakes... the most important suspension component  no fucking shit the brakes are different. We’re talking about suspension components, not brakes. Like, obviously there are differences elsewhere on the car So different spindle design... interesting  So part of...

But there’s not the only structural difference IS the LCA/spindle design. Everything else is all in spring rates and damping, which can be alleviated with the RIGHT parts selection on a GT

[Updated] Picked up #937 Mach1: Track Day Video and Comments

This is a good question, and probably what I should’ve asked. Personally, the only difference in handling I’ve noticed between the GT350 and a lightly nodded GT is steering feel. The GT350 has better response and less dead-on-center feel. I always attributed that to the GT350’s improved spindle...

    Cloth seats and spoiler?

Base Mach 1 comes with a small blade spoiler similar to PP2. The handling package Mach 1 comes with the spoiler from the GT350/500

Have to ask, have you driven a GT350 on track before? I’m really curious to see how they would compare in terms of feel and response

Any news on the Mach 1 and A10

There are mechanical changes. Upgraded torque converter and I’m pretty sure it has upgraded clutches, too

Not necessarily. The top row is GT500 colors, under that is Mach 1 colors with accompanying stripe color, and bottom is what stripe colors are available with what GT500 colors. Definitely a confusing infographic, but I think it was yet another slip-up from Ford’s marketing team 🤦🏻‍♂️

Why I chose the Mach 1... and why...

Agreed! I’ve said this in other threads, and people really don’t like to hear it... but NO Mustang is “special”... they’re all production line variants of the same $20k 4 banger rental car, no matter what badge is 3M taped onto the fender. If you’re looking to buy a Mustang, you shouldn’t be...

Why the Mach1 is a rip off

EEEEEEXACTLY Even if it is a parts bin car, the price is right where it should be for all the parts it has on it. The people who are pissed about it are the ones who foolishly expected a bespoke 525hp 5.2L engine for a car with a 1 1/2 year run, but still would’ve bitched and moaned when the...
