He says that stuff a lot but take the 21+ F150s as an example, Lund was the last to come to market. They do have about all the records, the biggest market share and yeah they do awesome work. I'm not going to take that away from them. I'm also a regular watcher of Alex's livestreams. Was what he...
Most tuners will lock them out in the tune with centri/turbo setups.
Keep stock manifold. 18+ factory manifolds are pretty solid even NA and the differences in manifolds are less apparent under boost
I've used a few different tuners and while Ortiz has been great to deal with and has had solid performing tunes, I keep coming back to OzTuning who is really big in the truck market. He doesn't necessarily go for the utmost power figure that can be rung out of a setup but he does make them run...
No drivability concerns here with 90mm C&L. But, also an auto because truck. Can’t speak on stick drivability. Running it on the same tune I received for stock tb
Mine is an F150 application so not exactly apples to apples but I’ve run e85 for a conservative 55 off the 65,000 miles I’ve put on it in the 3 years I’ve had it. I only run regular gas when I’m road tripping
The reason for the regular gas every oil change interval in the F150 is for lubrication. Also, would suggest not using the Lucas based on this:
They recommend MarvelMysteryOil instead. I add a few ounces every couple tanks and havent looked back
Yeah it's pretty no bueno. Could look into Schaeffers MolyEP. It's a more viscous base oil like the garbage that Lucas sells but that's primarily ester/PAO based AND has actual anti-wear components to it. Also runs a lower dose. It has a rather high opinion on BITOG and I pair it with Archoil...
I would recommend against MotorKote. It uses chlorinated compounds which form really harsh acids when they come in contact with combustion by-products and every engine has those. That's why it performed the way it did in those "tests". Initial metal-on-metal wear on a low run might be marginally...
I’m SCT tuned but I’ve never waited more than 2 business days. I have used the RTD+ with another tuner and with that your tune will be downloaded through the RTD+ on the TDN app. Nothing they can really do until you get the device
JuggernautPower I believe it was had all the fittings needed. I posted the link in the Holley intake thread but I'm quoting from memory currently.
I do agree though, the V2 CJ looks way better
Many tuners have had tons of issues with JLT specific garbage intakes. There may also be more going on here, I’m not blaming one thing or one party. My point is that you’re not doing anybody involved any favors by using sub-eBay quality parts
Not quite the same but whatever lol. Lund has at least put out real quality products at some point. JLT never has, whines about idea/design theft (that part’s pretty similar lol) and they’ve only gotten worse since their S&B buyout
Since when has popularity meant that anything was good? They're cheap and big. Most people are dumb and just follow the crowd. And the crowd typically buys what's cheap. The build quality of every one of their products is crap and the quality control is worse
The 1320 dyno is vastly different from everything else that's out there and he made it look terrible and immediately reminds the viewer that he does his special Boss manifold work. Not a great look for him when all the other 3rd party data suggests otherwise.
JLT sucks, nothing new. Ortiz has been nothing but great for me. Used a couple others as well but Ortiz has suited me best. Don't know much about Wengerd but honestly if a tuner is even slightly popular in the community, you're very likely going to have a solid experience. If you have nothing...
