I'm going to assume this is for the new Mustang.
I think a small bottle ceramic right out of the gate makes sense. I'm curious what application is like.
Dawn being good to use on anything automotive related is definitely a meme.
As far as cleaning towels, if we're talking NOT using rags to riches, my best experience is with Woolite. That's another "not just Tide or All," but I can't remember the last time I walked into a home and did not see...
Good info, that thing is way cheaper than a carplay2air. Listing hasn't been up that long on US Amazon, but if it sucks for some reason I can always send it back.
The decon money shot
Dude this is literally the first place I come for detailing info at this point. I still browse/read other places here and there, but you put everything together so well!
You nailed it with the PPF removal. That's a pain in the ass. Good job.
I used the NXT soap and liquid wax. I did not even finish the first bottle of the soap, but younger me was always really happy with the wax. Back then I didn't understand that it was the mild abrasives/polishes that made me happy with how the car looked. Durability was 2-3 months.
Thanks, that tells me this is probably not what I'm after lol.
Right now I just use a spray bottle with 1:10 Lift and go all over the car. It suds up like crazy when I rinse it. Sounds like I'll just wait until I want to drop the cash on one of those small wall mounted pressure washers.
I have Lift in a spray bottle at 1:10 so I'd try that first since it's the standard dilution. It suds a lot compared to a normal APC so rinse thoroughly.
This actually helped a lot, thanks. I'll give Amplify a shot with my maintenance washes next year since it's just starting to cool down here. I'm not attached to any finishing spray yet. I am way happier with Reload 2.0 vs the original though. Kinda looks like ADS and CarPro use the same spray...
Looking at ADS Ceramic, they seem to recommend the same application method as Griot's 3-in-1 or TW Hybrid Ceramic while CarPro suggests an extra buffing for Reload. Interesting.
I don't own any large quantity of SiO2 spray even though I always use some at the end of every maintenance wash. I...
Thanks man.
For those curious, I did a deep dive on this. For the purposes of paint decon, you want the active ingredient in Gyeon or Iron X: ammonium thioglycolate. This combines TGA (thioglycolate acid) with ammonia. Other products on the market will use sodium thioglycolate. Gyeon has a...
At the risk of re-visiting old comments too much, are Iron X and Gyeon Iron worth a premium? Say Turtle Wax or Adam's @ $10-$15 per 500ml vs Gyeon Iron @ $25 per 500ml?
Basically I don't want to waste my time when I could be using CarPro Reset instead of meh soap again, for example.
Nanolicious is a wash and wax kinda thing yeah? I'm surprised it foams so much for being that type of product.
I've used a pile of Meg's products and I think the only one with a smell that stood out was ultimate quik wax. Not really a relevant product anymore with SiO2 stuff out now, but they...
