888R is really old tech. There are much better options. Anyone who is still runnning them is probably holding their breath for another Gravity Kills album
y’all need to try the A052 or at least the newer bridgestone RE71RS.
the Yokohama A052 hooks fantastically, and works very well in cool...
Yeah at CotA uou wont see many Miatas. CotA is kinda expensive for the affordably minded miata crowd and they get passes on the longer straights like they’re stopped.
For track or even autocross, the number is 500 or above on the front springs. Even the Steeda DRs at 350 (while a ton of fun) still dont support the nose enough.
for a car which is still mainly a street car I wouldnt second guess a 400 front spring but I would be very careful what shock I pair...
Quickfit works better with the Recaros. With the sofa seats they can push down on your shoulders which probably isnt safe for your spine. (At least for my 5’10” build.)
i like the Rallye 4 more than the Pro for the sofa seats (it stows faster and easier) but the Pro is better for recaros/race...
magnaride cars might benefit, but the weak point w/r/t the ride is definitely the shocks. With a spring this stiff or stiffer, you just can’t get away with skimping on the shocks. But yeah on a smooth track, they’re a ton of fun.
After running the DRs for a couple years. i was suprised to...
you got a source for that printout I assumed you received in a shady deal on the wrong side of the the railroad tracks?
the problem is when you give a good shop alignment specs looser than a Tinuana hooker, they only give you what you asked for, and you go home with a minimum effort, ballpark...
Well if it feels numb/heavy/stiff in the steering, and its off a bit left that makes sense if the numbers were take with a straight wheel. Take it back and ask them to take another shot at it. If they’re a reputable shop they will want to get it right. FWIW zero toe is the spec and toe-in is...
If the steering feels stiffer, thats because you’re toed in right now. Zero toe would be more lively, toe in heels heavy.
alignment shop barely touched anything, and didnt touch your camber as far as I can tell. What specifically did you ask them to do?
You can just raise the rubber stops slightly by turning them counter clockwise to add some up pressure on the latch to reduce some of that hood flutter.
you definitely dont need hood latches. IDK why the GT500 has them but I expect its mostly to look different. It has to be ‘special’ to...
The stock suitcase resonator has two straight pipes inside, they’re just preforated for the resonator/muffler effects but you can see straight through each side.
Well my 2c is replacing the main rear control arm bushing with a bearing is a high value target for curing that looseness. That and the toe bearing you already probably have from the factory was enough on my car.
OTOH the diff bushings added a ton of NVH. I would not do the stiff ones, I'd try...
Well on that list, only the camber bolts will do anything for performance. If you aren't fast with the stock Mach1 you won't be any faster with any of that stuff (camber aside). You may get some NVH from the diff supports, but I do think they may help those bushings last longer.
I vastly...
in a staight line, yeah
If you drive it around some corners and a manual should be faster, and its more fun. My grocery getter is an auto.
i would trade cars for the manual. Its probably possible to reconfigure the car but its probably not worth the effort IMHO, and thats coming from...
^ LMR is best-afflordable, many of them are flow formed, light pretty strong and cheap.
you wont get concours paint, but they’re solid.
Apex is a bit better and still a great value.
Cant go wrong with Apex or LMR mustang-specific styles. There are others but lets start with those two.
This has been asked 100 times. You could start with a search.
Its going to depend on a few thing, including wheel offset, widths, and tire model. If you want the absolutely widest tire all of those details will come into play.
However, you should be aware that if traction is your real goal...
