  1. Steeda Clutch Spring - Better?

I agree with these guys. Based on my experience owning a combination of three S550 manuals and one S650 manual I conclude that changing the clutch spring out is a solution in search of a problem. These four cars include two GTs, a Mach 1 and a Dark Horse. And oh yeah, this was/is just before...
  2. Transmission Swap in a 2015 Mustang

If you have enough money, knowledge, patience and wrenching ability (or know someone who does) I suppose you can do about anything. But honestly as a practical matter Iā€™d guess it would almost be an impossibility. Even if you got the physical swap done, getting the computers to speak the same...
  3. My Journey Starts Here... GT vs Mach 1 vs GT350

Iā€˜ve had three Mach 1s and, waitā€¦they have cruise control? What next, they gonna put radios in them?
  4. Tape?

Thanks, you know I should have asked if it was ok on paint as well?
  5. Tape?

Kind of a basic question but is it OK to use just a good quality blue painterā€™s tape to mask off trim, badges, ridges etc. before polishing? Seems like it would be fine but I just wanted to make sure. Can only imagine that awful feeling if you started pulling up tape andā€¦well, you know.
  6. Polish tools

I realize that this wonā€™t be a very popular opinion here given that everyone has more exotic favorite products and brands, but Meguiarā€™s stuff is not a bad jumping off point. And they pretty much make a product for everything. Bonus: they have tech support that will actually answer the phone and...
  7. My Journey Starts Here... GT vs Mach 1 vs GT350

Iā€™m not against the HP either. I have a ā€˜23 Mach 1 without it and a ā€˜24 DH with it. I love them both but Iā€™m just a high spirited street jockey. I just personally wouldnā€™t let that drive the decision one way or the other. Truth be told in a heads-up street encounter between the two cars it would...
  8. Pan interviews Matt Moreman from Obsessed Garage

I have an old college buddy who has gotten unreasonably socially/politically biased in his latter years and constantly besieges me with YT videos that extol his point of view. Never occurs to him that I might or might not agree with him. I humor him with innocuous comments just because well...
  9. Pan interviews Matt Moreman from Obsessed Garage

Yeah Iā€™m a little like this myself. Iā€™ll watch either one to some extent if they happen to pop up when I do a search for something in particular but thatā€™s about it. But Iā€™m pretty cautious about ā€œfreeā€ YT advice to start with. So honestly I really am not aware of what it is that many folks find...
  10. My Journey Starts Here... GT vs Mach 1 vs GT350

My advice is to forget about the insurance until youā€™ve decided on and bought a car. Theyā€™re two separate deliberations and if youā€™re letting one drive the other you likely shouldnā€™t be considering a performance Mustang in the first place. Get the car you want nailed down and then put the same...
  11. Track Days and Insurance BS

Iā€˜m sure your treatise on VIN data is correct, and itā€˜s all pretty well known and understood. I honestly didnā€˜t have the bandwidth to parse it all. But itā€˜s not what the OP said. He stated the underwriters said his car was ā€œtrack capableā€. Thatā€™s marketing speak and doesnā€™t normally pop up in a...
  12. Track Days and Insurance BS

I guess I must be missing something here. How did the underwriters flag your car as ā€œtrack capableā€? All they do is input the VIN into their system and it spits out a rate. They donā€™t do a deep dive into associated promotional material.
  13. Wheel Hop - "Daily" Driver

Iā€™ve had seven new V-8 Mustangs of most all trims since 2020, maybe eight, heck Iā€˜m not sure. Still have three including a Mach 1 and a DH. I run exclusively in track mode so TC is mostly off. I get on mine too, because why else have them? And not once, not a single time have I ever had one...
  14. Just a Bath

Yeah I gotta figure out a creative [read: cheap-ish] way to get a little heat in my garage. Iā€™ve thought about one of those Mitsubishi split units but Iā€™m afraid to find out.
  15. Anybody have experience with The Clean Garage?

I sure do feel your pain on this one. Iā€™m just one of those folks that believes in having as much accurate information as possible in front of me before making a decision. Good news or bad, just tell me the truth best it is known. I used to joke that itā€™d be better to be in hell than purgatory...
  16. Anybody have experience with The Clean Garage?

Accurate and timely communication makes the world go ā€˜round or brings it to a screeching halt. Iā€˜m looking to buy a few things, maybe even at some point a new polisher or two and Iā€™m getting some unexpected surprises. Like on a well thought of website ordering a particular polisher, waiting a...
  17. DFB’s Detailing Awards 2024

At $44.95 USD for a 50 ct. boxed roll, plus a full 16x16 @280 GSM I was left with no choice myself! But far be it for me to be an enablerā€¦šŸ¤£
  18. DFB’s Detailing Awards 2024

Exactly! Plus theyā€™re excellent on glass!
  19. DFB’s Detailing Awards 2024

Great body of work DFB! Iā€˜m not deep enough into it yet to have tried many of these products but I can tell you one of his winners I totally love, and thatā€™s the TRCā€™s Rip nā€™ Rag roll towel. Terrific concept and product. They even sell an XL version thatā€™s a full 16x16 and 280 GSM, yet still...
