Maybe I worded that wrong. Is the computer going wonky because you've tapped into the backup camera wire and the computer is detecting a fault because there should not be any power draw from that wire when the camera is not being used?
I know nothing about audio systems so take what I say with a grain of salt. But I do know from past experience modern cars are very sensitive to power draw. If the computer thinks a circuit is drawing too much power it goes batty. I learnt this when I added extra lights to my Harley and when I...
I changed the battery in mine last year and did nothing except what the owners manual said to do. Let it idle for a couple minutes and then take it for a 10 mile drive. Then let it sit for a minimum of 8 hours with the doors locked. I have no issues after doing that, the BMS reset is for the...
Thanks guys! I'll take another look at that. I had watched a couple videos about replacing the tweeters and it was mentioned if not careful it would be very easy to set off that air bag. That pretty much scared me off.
I have the 9 speaker system in my 2019 Premium and I tried that Forscan disable and it did nothing, no change at all. I posted that info here and a couple folks who seem to know their stuff said it only works on the base 6 speaker system. I have no idea if that is true or not.
So now I've...
Has anyone ever seen a Blackstone report saying the oil should be changed because it's been tested and it turned out to be over a year old? That is a marketing department who came up with that. However, oil can go bad before the advertised maintenance schedule if the engine never completely...
I have to be honest, if you find checking the oil with the dipstick a confusing or complicated process maybe have a professional check it for you. If you park in the same spot every night and check it in the morning before you start it for the first time of the day there should be no confusion...
So that's a quart every 8,000 miles. I would never consider going that far between oil changes so in my mind you don't have an oil consumption issue at all. I'd only call it an issue if I had to add oil between changes.
2019 Stock GT. Doesn't use any oil, coming up to 30,000 miles. I have come to believe the guys who drove the car home from the dealer and immediately dumped the factory oil out and put in the slipperiest synthetic oil are the ones who have oil consumption issues. The rings need to seat before...
Can you feel a difference and if so is your car stock? We've had 93 at Shell and 94 at Chevron for a while now but I've always used 91. Maybe because we pay $1.65 for 87 and 91 is almost $2.00 a liter in B.C. We haven't seen prices as low as yours in decades.
Sport+ holds in each gear a bit longer than track does. If I'm cruising in Sport+ and the tranny is in 7th gear and switch to track it will upshift to 8th gear. Then if I go back to Sport+ it will downshift back to 7th gear.
I have heard that Ford fiddled with the modes from year to year so it...
The difference in the top picture is the poly speaker on the right is a woofer. They are in the lower door on the 9 speaker systems. The B&O systems have a sub woofer so I don't think (but not positive) the lower door speaker is a woofer.
How big are the magnets on the back?
A story in the local news a few months ago, some bad dudes stole a F150 truck and went on a crime spree. Then they took the truck into the woods and attempted to burn it to the ground but the cops got there before it burnt and the fire was put out. Then the cops downed the memory from the...
Nobody mentioned an exhaust leak, which was my first thought. Can you get in there and see if one of the studs holding the header to the cylinder head is broken or missing?
In your first message you said you let the oil fully warm up before you drove it. I don't think the oil would ever fully warm up no matter how long you let it idle. Driving it would be the only way to get it to operating temps. There's a lot of oil in there to keep hot.
Turning the radio off doesn't affect the piped in exhaust sound. A quick google search came back with pulling fuse #27 should disable it, but I have no first hand knowledge if that is true.
I'm having trouble figuring out your logic. Everyone knows that hot oil is thinner than cold oil. But since all oil viscosities are rated at the temps you mentioned then you need to compare apples to apples. If you test 5 weight, 5W20 and 5W30 at those temps the 5 weight will be the thinnest...
As I understand it the first number (ie:5) is the weight of the oil, then the add polymers that thicken the oil as it heats up. So if it was a 5W30 oil the oil would thicken up to where it flows like a 30 weight oil, but it's still 5 weight oil. We may be saying the same thing differently but I...
