Yeah, this is the first aftermarket solution that I have seen that has me interested. Will have to see what the actual details and pricing sorts out to be as that article is all I can find so far, beside the 10 second teaser on kenwood’s website.
I just saw a video on YouTube about Kenwood and JVC coming out with “Direct Replacement” in conjunction with idatalink for ford and GM vehicles with 8 inch screens. Details are a little lacking as of yet, but one of them is an eXcelon.
The only possibility that comes to mind for me is perhaps the amp is faulty and causing RF interference that is getting into the cars other systems. I used to have a PPI PowerClass amp that was faulty, could not listen to AM with it powered up - it was essentially transmitting RF noise splatter...
This sounds like my Canadian market car. Low beams on all the time regardless of how I set things. If you get a forscan setup, you will be able to modify this to your liking. I currently have my car set up so the turn signal / parking light in the front are the DRLs. The tribars still illuminate...
You can set a key, for your kid as an example, where the max speed and radio volume, among other things are set to something modest to keep them out of trouble.
How about a car where the engine is started once in a while, moved like 10 feet, then shut off, so it never gets to temp and never expels the water vapor and gasoline from the blow by on cold starts. I’m imagining a car in a lot that gets moved around for various reasons, over and over again...
