I was very satisfied with wet and dry grip. I have driven them all hard at Tail of the Dragon and the GMAX's performed just as well. The PS4S felt the most responsive but all 3 had all the traction I needed.
The GMAX seemed susceptible to hydroplaning in heavy rain with a lot of water in the...
I suggested 275 or 285 width tires because they are the ideal fit for the LMR/SVE 19x10 wheels I recommended. To be honest, with the use you described for your car and 300 hp you probably don't "need" anything wider than 255/265, but those sizes would require narrower wheels. The SVE wheels...
Those are the Mach 1 handling package wheels, which are 19x10.5 front with 305/30 tires and 19x11 rear with 315/30 tires. They will "fit" on your car but those sizes are overkill for your use. If I was in your shoes and completely committed to that style I'd get the SVE replica versions in 19x10...
Seems doubtful they could get away with that, given law enforcement officers aren't permitted to conclude, for example, that all speeding drivers are impaired.
I doubt the dealer was being honest about that. Better to cite factors completely beyond their control than imply they could sell more cars by offering generous discounts. :giggle:
What tires were on the Camaro? I did my first track day in October on my Continental ECS 02 tires. My buddy has dedicated track wheels with Michelin Sport Cup 2s and he was a lot faster due to better grip and more experience. I have Steeda Trident wheels, 19x10 square.
Muffler King is highly recommended by people in the DFW Facebook group, DFWs550s. They're not in North Dallas, but closer to you than Fort Worth. Bryan and Kevin Witherspoon know Mustangs. They don't take appointments (a couple years ago they didn't, anyway).
For those wheel sizes, this looks like your best choice for keeping the overall diameter close to stock in both front and rear.
Edit: With +35 offset 305s will poke a little in the rear. I'm running 285 on 10-inch width at +35 and it's flush.
I know there are people here running 285/35 and 305/35 tires on 20x10 and 20x11 wheels, and the AS4 comes in 285/35r20. I'm pretty sure their front wheels are +35 offset, though. I'm not sure if +30 would be just enough to rub. Maybe that's why you are looking at 275. :)
