I believe there are already a bunch of made in the USA options. But I prefer to stick with OEM pads (Brembo made in Italy) and rotors (SHW made in Germany) which is why I'm buying ahead of tariffs on EU products.
Just as an update for anyone in the future. I took the car out yesterday for the first time since I tightened everything up back in December and the noises have disappeared. The sway bar end link nuts tightened by about 1/3 of a turn and the steering-rod-to-knuckle nut about 1/4 of a turn...
Took it out for the first time in a month. It's been a real winter here in the DMV unlike the past 7 years. I also ordered a bunch of parts to get ahead of the tariff-related price increases, including brake pads and rotors. I those those are the major consumables produced outside the USA.
Was the vibration present at the start of the track day or did it occur after a session or two?
If it happened after a session or two then it is possible you picked up some rubber or lost a wheel weight or you flat spotted your tries a bit or they started chunking, etc.
Also, you will have a...
I get it. But after my debacle with SPL last year (defective studs that kept snapping) I'm done with aftermarket parts for a while.....
Maybe when I have to swap them out again I'll try these.
It seems pretty straight to me but difficult to tell without taking it off.
Is this boot just twisted up due to articulation or is it toast? Bottom looks okay.
I tightened the nuts yesterday. They were both maybe half a turn below 85 ft/lbs. I haven't driven since then so I don't know if the clunking went away but my suspicion is that half a turn is not loose enough to cause the noise.
The endlink itself I can also articulate very easily by hand. How...
So I was able to articulate the driver's side LCA just by sticking my arm underneath and can confirm it moves and sounds the same.......
I'm not sure if the noise is related to the SSM or the front strut mounts because it has nothing to do with turning the wheel. Only when going over speed...
Thanks guys. Eventually I'll find time to check the driver's side. Busy time of year. If someone has their car up in the air in the near future could you give your arm a test and let me know please? That noise it makes when it is being rotated like that is very similar to what I am hearing while...
I'm chasing a clunk/click on the front passenger side when going over bumps and on uneven pavement. All fasteners are tight. Ball joints seem fine. But I am able to very easily rotate my rearward LCA and when I do it makes this clicking and clunking noise. Is the bearing toast on the chassis...
I took the car out for a spin the other day and noticed a clunking and popping noise on the front passenger side going over bumps and imperfections in the road. It sounds different than last year when my strut top nut was loose. I checked all the fasteners and nuts and everything is tight...
Hmmmm.....so Capaldi Racing pulled a bait and switch on me. They had the M-5700-N kit listed for $790. I placed the ordered last night. And today they called me and said that the kit won't be available until end of January 2025 and refunded me my money. Now the kit is available for pre-order...
In theory, shouldn't it be possible to just use a spring compressor (perhaps an internal one) and remove the rear spring without loosening the subframe OR removing the LCA?
I am considering picking up the FP sway bar and spring kit for the GT350. However I am unsure about the installation of the rear springs. The FP instructions state to essentially disassemble a lot of the arm and knuckle assembly, which requires removal of the muffler and exhaust to access the...
