Yes - quite happy with MVP. I first ran with Mark Pfeffer's group back in the late '00s and they've only improved over time. MVP visits quite a few tracks, offers lots of time on-course, and has a great group of instructors for those new to the hobby or those who want to continue improving.
Those of you who occasionally venture over to the Track Mustangs Online site may already be aware of this but, for others, I thought I'd post some good news for the Mule.
Near the end of last year, I submitted a pic to the guys who were putting together 2025 calendars. I sorta forgot about it...
Not FPRS. The Mule was out for some driveline repairs and other track-prep work and the shop sent the mid-pipes out. It's likely the exhaust shop thought it was for a car with solid mounts. When I was told about the "fix" when I picked up the Mule, I was skeptical, but took a wait and see...
As we slide into winter (more like a crash, given the temps in the low teens here in the midwest lately), here's a brief update on the Mule's exhaust issue.
This man-made problem was highlighted in the end-of-season summary (post 297). The Mule received solid sections in the OEM mid-pipes as a...
The Mule runs Apex SM-10 (Anthracite) and SM-10RS (Bronze) in 17x11" (52ET) and uses 25mm spacers on the front wheels to allow the square set-up.
The SM-10 is a flow-formed wheel and the SM-10RS is forged. You can see the difference in the spoke thickness below. The forged version with slicks...
I hear ya, brother...... I was disappointed when I got the car home and up in the air - even before the break. To their honor, Capaldi's response was appropriate and appreciated.
When it comes to welding, I'm not much beyond the level of hack myself, but certainly could have (but wouldn't...
2024 Season Finale Report –
Welcome to the 2024 “The Grass is Always Greener Slippery” tour wrap-up.
If you’ve been following along, you know that the Mule went to sleep-over camp this summer and was gone for the bulk of the season. But, it came home just in time to make it to round two of...
Time for an update!
After a long summer at the Ford Performance Spa (a.k.a. Capaldi Racing & Development in Chesterfield, MI), the Mule has returned home better than ever. Leo, Craig, and their team did a great job correcting some issues and doing a few improvements. Unfortunately, the...
The bulb is somewhat hard to see - more of a feel thing. If your hands aren't too big, you should be able to work your way back behind the head and find the bulb and the clip that it is supposed to be on.
A small mirror-on-a-stick, borescope, or your phone camera may help get your bearings.
Before you go digging too far, check the routing of the vent bulb to make sure it's upright. The Mule's vent was misrouted and laying over on its side and I didn't discover it until it puked transmission fluid on the underside of the car.
Here's an overhead pic - sorta blurry - followed by...
Going to have to try and drop by for a visit during the holiday weekend if I can get away from all the family plans for a bit.
Honeybadger's new configuration should give you a bunch of speed on the straights and the potential for significant downforce should be very helpful in T1, T7...
Well, I also fabricated a cover for my air box and need to revise it to actually bolt it down. The force of air into the box is such that it is pushing the lid up off it's mounting point.
While I realize that the intake and throttle body can only take in so much air, it appears that the...
Yep - here's a "before" pic.... the second pic above is the "after" shot.
The red is just on the pic to represent the area that was cut out - it was not on the actual part.
Compare to your pic in the OP and you'll see the blank area.
It's actually much bigger behind the grill - that's just the portion that is visible. If that small area were to become blocked, the area behind the grill would still allow airflow, just not direct cold air "ram" effect.
Some of us have opened the grill to expose more of the inlet funnel (hat...
