I don't agree. They (FMC) has gone into the business of extracting personal data and driving habits. Being cautious and aware certainly isnt in the realm of lunatics.
Yea, it's a shame. I offered every opportunity to resolve this matter amicably. Everyone could have been happy. They are going to lose the cost of round trip shipping. One of my offers was a small patial refund to get the issue repaired. I guess they would rather get it back at any cost and...
So I guess they are reading this. They asked me to pack it all up and they will pick it up. When they confirm a full refund to include my shipping, I'll do exactly that.
Their recommendation to me was to have my body shop repair it. I'm not going to touch it until this matter is resolved. They advertise the hood as needing prep for paint. It says nothing about work involving re-bonding seams that were defective from the factory. For the record, there were...
Update:
They keep insisting that the defect is normal and they won't do anything with the hood.
At this point, I cannot recommend the purchase of the hood for anyone who might have been interested.
I'm going to hand the matter over to my credit card company.
Update. The day after I posted, Tob asked me to take photos of the backside of the hood. I took some photos and discovered the bond between the A and B side had defects along a seam. There was. O shipping damage and Shelby admitted to me they had problems with these hoods like this early on...

He has a much later build than I do...
Sam!
Glad to hear from you! I've been busy with work. The GTD thing? Waiting on more info. It would be great to catch up. Maybe NZ? AU? Looking for an excuse to catch up with friends. Jim and I have talked about shipping cars..... well, let's chat before going off the deep end.
Let me...
It's very similar to the Ford GT allocation process (public knowledge) and for what I understand, the same people are running the GTD Program from the perspective of allocation management (again, public knowledge).
It is what it is. Either it's going to work out or not. I've been a very good...
I can say that my interest is waining. No significant information has been conveyed to me and I have an early build (Mar thru Jun engagement). This car was supposed to BEAT the competition on its own turf (ie the GT3RS). That didn't happen. I understand that conditions weren't optimal, but...
