I have the Recaros and at 6-1 also feel the seating position is too high. These seats have a manual height adjustment with a limited range. So, doubt that would help you much. Interested to hear if you find a solution. I only drive mine occasionally and tolerate it, but would like to be able to...
Agree, while the mid to late 60s were great for young gearheads, it was over pretty quickly. By the early 70s emissions rules and especially insurance rates were taking a big toll on the muscle cars.
1969 was a huge year for muscle and pony cars. I remember seeing a lot of Mach 1s back in the day (yeah I'm that old). I rarely see a current one. Did see a couple at the track this past weekend (MSR Houston) but outnumbered by Shelbys.
Another insurance option is Opentrack. I have an annual track policy for multiple cars. no claims but others have had good experience. May be worth comparing rates. Unlikely to have an issue with brake fluid at moderate speed and few laps. If fluid is older than 2 years may be wise to flush it...
I had a similar experience. I thought coming from 991/981 GTs with Cup2s it would not be that noticeable. But it was apparent immediately. I think it's the weight bias and especially the tire size. 991GT3 front is a 245 compared to 305 and more weight on the Mach1. I've yet to check the...
I must be missing something. It's common for volunteer instructors to get discounted fees. Here in TX, generally the fee is waived (except COTA) and lunch provided. But why would that have anything to do with promotion criteria?
Was that the total of the feedback? I would expect for novice...
This is just my speculation but I also think it is less about HP and more about 700A and/or other options. My order for 600A, HP, Recaros seemed to go through pretty smoothly- order confirmation 1/27 to delivery 5/17. I did get the wrong recaros- Leather rather than cloth, which I am still...
The 3R is treadwear "100" and Mich 4S is "300". The 4S will be better in wet conditions and especially any standing water. I recently bought sets of both for a Cayman R- the 3R on 18s for track tires and 4S on 19s for street tires.
The Gurney flap and hardware were left in the trunk. I asked for the spring blocks and they had to chase down the tech. He claimed it shipped with only one. oh, and no tow hook in the trunk which I guess is normal based on other posts.
Sure, a race seat is better (have a P1300 in my track/race car) but I don't want to drive to the tracks in a race seat. For that part I'd rather have the oem safety system. If I did put in a race seat I would want a roll bar/half cage, 6pts etc and don't want to hack up another nice street car...
I meant HPDE or private track days on a road course. I think the optional Recaros are suitable for a car to drive to/from that type of track event rather than towing a dedicated track/race car.
I wonder the same thing. but it seems that RSD is a factor as there are several with 600A and RSD that got leather Recaros instead of cloth. I'm still waiting for a reply from my dealer as to reasons and alternatives. in the end I'll probably just live with them.
I agree generally. I especially don't care for Alcantara on touch surfaces. That said, for my use case cloth would be slightly preferred. Getting a little tired of hauling track/race car to HPDEs and wanted something I could drive to/from events when I just want to hang out and drive a few...
Thanks, did you try to resolve it with Ford and get the cloth seats? I agree cloth is grippier and for some more comfortable for track use. I specced mine as mainly a track car, but in reality will be more of an occasional track car.
