  1. Hardwired Dash Cam - Battery Drainage?

Lockitt POSI-TAP are what I used. I think there is 3 wires (always ,neg, switched) coming out of the back of the light. Find the 2 that are activated by the doors. Ran the wire down the sleeve to a blend mount. The pain though is getting the map light housing down. Small screwdriver and poke...
  2. Hardwired Dash Cam - Battery Drainage?

The map light circuit powers on when the door open/car unlocks and powers off after a few minutes. I tapped mine and use it for my radar detector. Works perfectly. There are dash cams with a built in battery that will run it for certain periods of time. That allows the best of both worlds.
  3. CEL Won’t GO AWAY! HELP!

Go back to stock first. You have a problem that showed up after changes were made. The only way to know if they are related is to undo the changes. It could be cracked pistons or it could be a small leak on MAF sensor and everything in between. Go back to stock and reassess.
  4. Ford Inspector for Warranty Repair-Update:Warranty Denied Claim Due to Off Road Racing

Being an ESP gives them the right to do pretty much whatever they want. There is also probably a binding arbitration clause in the contract. Most even have the option to refund the service plan amount back to you if the repair amount is over the cost of the plan. It is bad business and since...
  5. 32-mile '22 GT500 CFTP HE for sale...

Remember when people thought the 50th anniversary cars would be collectible? Yep last I checked it was still just a run of the mill mustang.
  6. EcoBoost to GT observation

Track with shifter in S is how my car is always driven. The rev matching feels much better than sports plus jerky downshifts. I found the holding upshift paddle back to automatic mode by accident but it changed the way I drive and use the car tremendously. No touching the shift anymore. And...
  7. Took car in for alignment, left with burned clutch

You have a few more months to say goodbye……
  8. EcoBoost to GT observation

If you have E85 around you, 2.5 gallons per fill up will make a massive difference with 91 or 87. It really helps with low end torque especially on hot day. Also another trick almost no one knows about is holding the upshift paddle to put the car back into automatic mode from manual mode. Makes...
  9. Took car in for alignment, left with burned clutch

A friend of mine had a shop wreck his car at night 50 miles from where it was supposed to be. He took it in for a window motor replacement. If I remember correctly they ended up paying him the value of the car plus quite a bit extra. Pretty clear case of negligence since they had zero reason to...
  10. Resonator delete

Don’t do it. It is easier to make these cars sound horrible than it is to make them sound good. I would look into an H-pipe before the X. it will be at least twice as loud without the resonator.
  11. S650 vs Camaro SS 1LE

The alpha platform is just better from a performance perspective. At every trim level the Camaro beats down the Mustang on a track. Chevy built a better track car. I don’t understand the debate, the numbers have been out for years. But since track use matters to about 1% of owners, one car...
  12. 7000 Miles and 1st Problem :-( !!

I don’t know how off topic comments on worker shortages are when this post wouldn’t even have been made if the dealer had the car and was fixing it. The problem in my mind is very simple. Low wages. Wages have to rise but the ownership class is doing EVERYTHING(including trying to crash the...
  13. Remove Torx from gurnee flap with stripped head

If the solutions above don’t work, Dremel a slot in it and us a flathead. At any rate I am a big fan of masking the area off to protect it.
  14. How are your seats holding up

I am going with it’s an environmental issue. It could be a bad batch of seat covers but my money would be on something these things have been exposed too. Could have been a bad leather dressing the dealership put on before the car was picked up. I have zero clue but what you have going on is...
  15. How are your seats holding up

Get some tint on that windshield. 70 is not noticeable and it blocks most UV. You can can(could) also buy factory leather pull offs for like $200. Takes like 4 hours to do all the seats.
  16. 2024. White

I am trying. I am trying to like it. I am really trying to like this car. I just can’t.
  17. Steering wheel buttons no longer working

Recheck your work. I would guess a connector is not seated properly or a pin has bent or pushed out of the connector. The problem is probably very simple. Search for a simple answer.
  18. Is tire blooming (browning) a real thing?

Yep. When I change tires I put the takeoff set at my shop after cleaning. No browning after sitting 6 months. It might also have to do with the paraffins reacting with the atmosphere since while they sit they don’t develop any browning. Paraffins are always working their way towards the...
  19. Is tire blooming (browning) a real thing?

Pressure washer takes it off really well. Both my PS4s and my AS3s do it.
  20. Metal chunk in oil drain pan after oil change today

Gas water heaters last forever since they don’t have an electromagnetic field inside them. 25-30 years. The anode rod is just a sacrificial piece of metal that gets eaten first by the electrical charge. Pretty much the same process as chrome plating. Most people are more familiar with them on...
