As with a few others, my first car is <- . I've had my Cougar since I was 15. I bought it for $600 and had it running on my 16th birthday for under $1000. It had a 289 2v and 3 speed manual at the time and was eventually upgraded to a different 289 that I rebuilt myself when I was a junior in...
I keep track of mileage on most of my vehicles. I keep track at least long enough to know the difference between what the mileage indicator is and what actual mileage is. My 08 Bullitt reads high by 1 mpg, our F250 is high by 1 mpg and my '09 Focus reads high by 2mpg. I don't know what the...
If only mine was in that nice of shape. I would rather have a nice FE based engine and a manual transmission, though. I've got a few parts rounded up for swapping my 289 for a 428, but my recent S550 purchase will mean driving it with a 289 for a few more years.
There are 3 active 1/4 mile dragstrips in Kansas - Wichita (KID), Great Bend (SCRA) and Topeka (Heartland Park). Apparently they're not going to run any more at the Manhattan 1/8 mile. I've run at all 3 tracks at various times. Great Bend is a really nice track, but is the slowest due to the...
I've wondered what happened there the whole time I've owned it. I can't imagine that there wasn't some sort of life changing event that caused him to trade it in. There had to be on the order of $25k between what he paid for it and what he got for it. I sent him a FB message a while back to...
I did quite a bit of looking at the used market in December and January. Bullitts pretty much listed for $43k-$47k for an under 10k mile '19. If they had high mileage or damage then they would go a little lower, but there were very few listed for under $40k. That doesn't mean you couldn't...
I'm looking at either the Ford Performance ones or Gforce version of them. They're way too expensive, but they have a lifetime warranty on them. That way I only have to do it once.
One thing to look at would be axle shafts. Roush puts them on "from the factory" on their supercharged cars. My RS2 had a supercharger installed when it was new, but never got the axle shafts upgraded. It'll be one of the first things I do to it.
I have had my Cougar since I was 15. I've also owned every generation of Mustang since the Fox bodies. There is definitely a jump in driving dynamics going from each generation. I still enjoy taking the old car out sometimes, but it's definitely a lot more work than the '08 or '18. It sounds...
It's not a '19/'20, but I've been a Bullitt owner since 2009 when I was 36. My '08 (only Mustang I've ever bought new) has been way more than just a car. I've met many friends because of the Bullitt community. I was really excited when they announced the '19/'20 run. Finding a used '19 was...
I managed to find a Roush Stage 2 in Royal Crimson recently. It had less than 5000 miles on it and a little surprise under the hood. The only background I have on the car is that it sat at the dealership unsold until March 31, 2020 and then on April 26, 2020 it had a 700hp phase 1 Roush...
I've got the Roush single adjustable kit, which I believe is (essentially) the same as the KW V1 series. My initial thought was that it uses the same setup as factory because there is no mention of having to change the upper mount out when installing the coilover kit. What you're saying would...
If you have a discount code available, that would be great. I'm looking at ordering camber plates. I've got an '18 Roush with coilovers, so does that mean the coilover version is necessary? The wording in the description makes it sound like both versions are compatible with the KW/Roush...
I just snagged a set of EC7 in 19x11 with ET52. I am planning on using them for autocrossing/HPDE on my '18 Roush RS2. The tire size I'm looking at is 305/30-19. Is there anything I need to get beyond extended studs and spacers? I've got the Roush single adjustables on it. I'm curious if...
Is there some way to upgrade the KW setup from V1 to V3 specs? My Roush came with the single adjustables and I would like valving adjustment without having to buy a complete kit if possible.
To follow myself up, Roush records show 156 Stage 2 Mustangs made in 2018. There were 22 made in my color combo and manual transmission (plus one convertible). I also saw paperwork that showed a total of 133 Jackhammers made.
I saw a fully prepped '79 Mustang roll during an autocross back in the '90s. He was on full slicks and hit a crack in the concrete just right while trying to cut a corner. It was a bit surreal. That's the only Mustang that I've seen get remotely close to rolling. I've seen a number of cars...
I've seen a couple of dyno graphs that show going up to 6800 then shutting down. I don't know if that was because of hitting a top speed limiter for the car or because of rpm limitation. I did see a Roush video of phase 1 where the graph went to 7500. I'm not sure why they would have lowered...
