Lest be honest, most Mustang platforms run for a decade at a time... the foxbody was long in the tooth, SN195, SN197... and now S550. On thing to keep in mind the CD6 Explorer has Aluminum impact beams, Magnesium front end module, Aluminum extruded engine bay rails, cast aluminum shocktowers...

Many people are tracking as such, but not sure if it is or isn't. Would be exciting if its on the same platform as the explorer. Extruded aluminum impact beam, magnesium front end module, extruded aluminum engine bay rails, cast aluminum shock towers, lots of scalping in the body structure...

    2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Carbon fenders make no sense to me from a cost to weight perspective. For the money they could sprinkle carbon elsewhere and get more for it.

    4 Door Mustang Coming soon

They are building a Mustang inspired 4dr vehicle. That doesn't mean it's the end of days for the Mustang. If anything it will help it through the times. The Mustang and automobiles in general have always adapted. There is a reason there is no Muscle cars anymore. Failure to Adapt.

    Mustang Hybrid Teased, Shows V8-Engine

As hybrids and Electrification increases the traditional face of cars will change rapidly. The ICE requires a fair amount of frontal area. Electrification affords the ability to incorporate more aero dynamic features to increase efficiency, or increase performance with more aggressive passive...

Why did Ford retain the 15-17 front/rear on 18-19 GT350s?

There are a series of aero/thermoaero improvements on the GT350s.

Why did Ford retain the 15-17 front/rear on 18-19 GT350s?

Its hard to know for sure unless someone from the Mustang team comments. However aside from the lights, most of the GT350 components from the A pillar forward are unique. It's volume hasn't exceed tool life. So from a cost perspective it absolutely makes sense. It would look odd to use the LED...

    7th Generation Mustang (S650) Moved to 2022...

That is not a product of the Ford Motor Company. S650 will have softer lines like that Mazda Concept.

Ford GT vs ZR1 at Virginia International Raceway

Not exactly, but similar. For instance a 911 annual volume is 10,000+ units a year. That's not high, but its not 250 units a year like the GT either. So from a tooling, production, and platform life cycle stand point, how a Porsche is designed and manufactured is very different. GT and the GTE...

Ford GT vs ZR1 at Virginia International Raceway

I don't think there is a car on the planet that the street version is as close to the race version as the GT. It was built to be a racecar. The same team developed and built both.

    2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

What do you actually aspect? A key thing is marketing is to not target your competitors flag pole. Can Ford build a GT500 that is as light as a GT350 or GT350R? Yes. Can Ford build a GT500 that is faster than a ZL1 1LE around a given track? Yes. Can Ford build a GT500 that is faster than a ZL1...

    2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang leaked specs: 720HP @ 7500 RPM, 650 ft-lbs @ 4500 RPM, 4225lbs curb weight

Its starts with a meeting and someone saying "I want to be way faster than a ZL1 around the track, and I don't want to have any of the cooling issues GM had, we had enough nonsense with the non track pack cars" - Functional Requirement 1, Be way faster than the ZL1 at X track - Functional...
