  1. Oil Filter Question

The Mustang oil filter either for the 4 or 8 cyl is not a large filter, so this may be all in your mind. I would go down to your local AutoZone and get an oil filter in your hand that is proper for your car. I think you’ll find the one they put on is OK.
  2. P&S Bead maker

garage queens here too….. yep, collinite is great stuf, Rejex also ….I used to buy that by the gallon… But once the “wipe on walk away“ polymer products got released like blackfire crystal seal or ultima paint guard plus, I love the fact that I didn’t need to “wax off“….I still like that about...
  3. P&S Bead maker

just to keep the discussion going, one thing in the past few years I started to look at is the cost of some of the Detailing products are out there and what you get for that. I go back all the way to the first coating days of optiicoat when you bought it in a syringe for 89 bucks, and then all...
  4. P&S Bead maker

yup, and the camaro forum….. looking back, I never should’ve sold the C7, what a wonderful car. So then I went through a few Camaros with v6 engines, a few company cars, but I always yearned for V8. This 5.0 came along at Carmax with perfect specs, so I picked it up. Couldn’t be happier.
  5. P&S Bead maker

Great info above, after using coatings for 10 years or so, and all sorts of polymer sprays, the only thing I try to do when new products come along is keep it in the same family. I use polymers for years, then went to the light coatings such as gyeon cancoat, so therefore now I use a sio2...
  6. P&S Bead maker

I like beadmaker, I like CarPro elixir a little better, better durability.
  7. What floor jacks do you guys use? (lowered 500's too)?

  8. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Another nice combination is the one that is shown on the big worm site, a bit more conservative:a matte black hash stripe with red pinstripes…
  9. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

The guys at big worm suggested last night that I add a slight bit of color to make the hash pop and I had some red 3/8 inch tape so I added that and they were right. this really makes the hashmark pop and matches the brakes, I will see how other pinstripes look but I think I’ll probably stay...
  10. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

if you are painting an engine cover that has circulation around and underneath it, you can use regular paint. I have several engine covers painted with standard rust oleum colors and they look fine several years later. If it’s a part that is directly on the engine, then I would use high temp.
  11. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

began experimenting with different color fender hashmarks on my carbonized gray GT, big worm has sent me several swatches to test out, this is a set of gloss silver hashes… I like to look, but I’m also going to experiment with matte or gloss anthracite, black and red, and then different...
  12. Dealerships really ramping up the BS

sorry you are broken more than me, … you obviously missed the point about living in a condo and being a garage that won’t allow you to do any work … But whatever… I just painted all my brake calipers which required me to use my Pittsburgh jack and jackstands to get the job done at a friend's...
  13. Dealerships really ramping up the BS

I am amazed how many people immediately say, “change your own oil“….There are some of us that that is just not possible. I live in a condo, Have a bad back at the age of 73 and after changing my oil for 30 years, now I have to take it to somebody. Just realize there are other people in...
  14. PP1 Spoiler 3M Tape

just cut the tape, it’s just a cushion for the bolts anyway
  15. Dealerships really ramping up the BS

I never have understood why some dealers think pressuring a person to buy extra services works out in the long run. As I said above, I was a general manager of a BMWAudi dealership in Pittsburgh, and then a regional manager for BMWNA for 20 years. When I met with my service advisors at the...
  16. Dealerships really ramping up the BS

EXACTLY WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, you are reading the alternator WITH THE ENGINE OFF, you are reading the battery
  17. Dealerships really ramping up the BS

I had a similar situation a couple years ago on a Corvette. I was doing an Low mileage recall, and they came up with a laundry list of six or seven things just like you. I politely said no, but instead of leaving, I went around the corner to the general managers office and introduced myself. I...
  18. Some unexpected winter storage questions

About eight years ago I went to a tech session held at the Porsche Wiessach engine development facility. At the Q&A session with the powertrain engineers, this idea of starting it every now and then when it’s in storage came up. They were adamant ANY engine that is in storage, should be left...
  19. Hello From Florida

welcome to the forum, I just picked up a 23 and have been doing many mods so far. Come by Fort Lauderdale someday and we’ll get a cuppa coffee and go over some of the things you can do easily…
  20. mustang badges -pins or tape?

just finished plastic dipping all my badges, the front was just easier to paint leaving it on the car and taping it up, the sides the same way. On the rear, it’s easy to pop off the entire panel and take it into the shop to dip. took the rear badge off to paint it, makes it a cleaner reinstall...
