  1. 2017 mustang with 18 manifold and Lu47 injectors swap

The response you received was a little off-topic but I agree with his sentiments. 5 years ago when the GT350 IM was still $1,000+ and the 18 GT IM was only $200-300, the 18 GT IM was unquestionably the better value. In 2023, I commonly run across GT350 IM’s under $500 while the GT IM has...

Did your buddy’s sound like this?
  3. Has anyone experienced a mechanic who’s unable to successfully install a part?

Here’s the verdict. After 1 month with the local mechanic, I really did need a new clutch. Followed by a…you also need a new transmission from the local Ford dealer. That “we’ll thrown in a free Ford ESP” if you buy the vehicle today (bought Nov 2021, 2012 GT w/106k miles) has gotten me a brand...
  4. Has anyone experienced a mechanic who’s unable to successfully install a part?

I purchased a 2012 Mustang GT 18 months ago clearly knowing it had the very first signs of a failing clutch with 5th gear having a slight grind. Eventually lost 5th gear and 6th gear began to grind. Then 4th began to grind as well. A month ago, I finally had the catastrophic downshift fail where...
  5. Ford premium maintenance and Portfolio protection plan good or dumb?

Agreed but you got screwed by the dealer, not Ford.
  6. Ford premium maintenance and Portfolio protection plan good or dumb?

Not only that, a manufacturer extended warranty adds to your vehicle’s resale value. Just as you said, it’s a form of insurance. As such, there’s no right or wrong answer with obtaining it or not but rather how much risk are you willing to take on and does it fit with your overall risk...

What’s your response to following announcement by the company’s CEO? Not really going to happen? Dodge to phase out its Challenger and Charger muscle cars in shift towards EVs https://www.engadget.com/dodge-is-k...r-muscle-cars-in-favor-of-e-vs-085839976.html Just an April fools joke? 2024...

If you were looking to buy a V8 sports car in 2024 and you’re only options were Mustang and Corvette, which model would you choose? Consider an EV performance as well? Buy a 1960-2020 model V8 sports car?
  9. Has anyone given thought to this monumental change that’s about to occur? In less than 2 years…

This post was specifically regarding V8 performance vehicles, with the Mustang and Corvette being the last two standing 2 years from now, not the entire car market. There will be many ICE vehicles still being produced for quite awhile longer.

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will be a magnificent V8 powered vehicle to buy until it’s the retired as a 2023 or 2024 model. Just like the Challenger and Charger until they are retired in the next 2 years. There will still be a couple V8 performance vehicles left in the $100-150k range and a...
  12. Has anyone given thought to this monumental change that’s about to occur? In less than 2 years…

The Corvette and Mustang will be the only performance vehicles of any type still being produced under $100k that offer a V8 engine. The Mustang will be the only production vehicle in the world that will offer a V8 engine and manual transmission. If you’ve been pretending this could never become...
  13. Why DIDN'T you get a camaro?

The S550 does have unusually good visibility for a sports car. Even though, it’s an overrated argument that can be applied to most sports cars with less than stellar visibility. One thing I’ve noticed with the S197 I now own is the visibility is just as bad as the Camaro I previously owned, yet...
  14. Why DIDN'T you get a camaro?

It’s a much lower sitting position in the Camaro. You know this is the base GT, right? Touch dial phone pad and all.
  15. Why DIDN'T you get a camaro?

The Camaro has a much higher quality interior. The LT1 I had has the base LT interior and it’s as nice as the premium Mustang’s.
  16. Why DIDN'T you get a camaro?

All you need is a LT2 IM and the Camaro will pull all the way to 6500rpm. The Camaro I had sounded great, just different than the Mustang. I still give the edge to the Mustang.
  17. Why DIDN'T you get a camaro?

Barely 6 months, this happens unfortunately. Lady pulled out of an apartment complex and hit me while I was going 45mph, like I wasn’t there. Luckily everyone was ok.
  18. Why DIDN'T you get a camaro?

And just like that, I’m back! Almost!!!
  19. Why DIDN'T you get a camaro?

I’ll be a little more specific. The shifter in the Camaro is more than fine but the shape and feel of the shift knob sucks royally. Easily one of the worse features of the Camaro but luckily the below fix was only $75. I can see where you’re coming from with most of your points but this...
  20. Why DIDN'T you get a camaro?

How rude of me. Looking at my 2016 below, it looks like I glossed over the 2021 losing a couple buttons. Even more progress!:thumbsup:
