Should Ford have made the Voodoo

The Voodoo is one of the greatest passenger car engines of all time. I'm very grateful that Ford built it. I hope to own another some day.

Anyone have the Ford Perm. Recaro’s?

AFAIK the FP Recaros have bolsters and the "racing seat" shape, but the bolsters don't have as sharp of an angle on them. Meaning they are a little less aggressive of a fit. However, if you are concerned about staying well-planted in the seat on a track day and not sliding around - neither...

Why Automatics Are Better Than Manuals

It's been a while since I drove a Challenger. I drove a few different Camaros in the last few years, because I had to see if I liked the latest redesign. Camaros are good - I just personally prefer the Mustang. I really like Challengers too. But my car purchases currently are geared toward...

How often should you drive a car?

I think you should drive a car (if you really care about it) enough to burn through a tank of gas every month (two at the most). Modern fuel just sucks. If you can buy pure gasoline where you live rather than the ethanol blend crap we have to buy here you can probably extend this to every six...

Why Automatics Are Better Than Manuals

I have never driven the A10. I know myself well enough. I have no interest and I wouldn't waste the salesperson's time.

Why Automatics Are Better Than Manuals

I feel lucky that Ford still sells cars with manual transmissions. I always figured that they were a lot more likely to be damaged by incompetent drivers - hence more warranty claims. You have to really do something crazy to damage an automatic with driver error. I can definitely understand...

    Your thoughts on value...engine replacement

You didn't understand my post. I was talking about what the parts + assembly cost Ford vs. what they charge us if we want to buy them. At 20k I believe they are making a lot of money on the Voodoo.

    MY 19 GT350 vs any GT350R?

I'm sure it depends on which generation of GT3/RS you are talking about, but I looked it up and the GT3 had a 3.8 liter whereas the GT3 RS had a 4.0 liter that made 25 more HP. If the GT350R had a 5.7 liter version of the Voodoo engine in it I would have to buy one.

    MY 19 GT350 vs any GT350R?

I kind of agree with this. IMO the value of the R is in the carbon fiber wheels first and foremost, and the aero/suspension/brake systems as well. Also a big part of the R value is the rarity and reputation (maybe this is what you meant when you said VIN - if so we agree on that point). But...

    Brake fluid change

The line travels down from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder. The fluid inside the slave cylinder would not be flushed, but the fluid from the reservoir and master would. The slave cylinder is the lowest point in the system. It's the best option to get fresh fluid as close to...

    MY 19 GT350 vs any GT350R?

I don't own a GT350 anymore but I'm a big fan and I hope to own another some day. For me I never wanted the R, but it was more of a budget and availability thing. I think the GT350 was plenty good enough for me and I didn't feel comfortable spending R money. I was afraid if I spent that much...

    Brake fluid change

The vacuum pulls the air bubbles out of the system. It doesn't remove any fluid. If you want fresh fluid in the clutch line, just disconnect the line at the side of the transmission and let the fluid drip for a while (make sure the fluid reservoir is topped up). Then you can do the vacuum per...

    Forgestars on GT350

I personally would definitely want 19s to keep the wheels as light as possible, but I would consider going wider (if they would fit). I don't own a GT350 at the moment, but I hope to own one again someday so I'm interested. What size would you suggest?

Had an interesting morning. Tried to look at a GT500

100% right. Financially it's great to pay less than MSRP and never pay an ADM, but in fact what that means is you won't be driving the latest and greatest cars. And some cars you may never get to drive with that philosophy.

Introducing the All-Electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 Dragster, Capable of 8 Second Quarter Mile

I agree with you about 1400 hp being engaging, but I drive 95+% on the street where I don't use most of the power. There are speed limits, etc. That's where the yawns come in for me. Especially in heavy traffic. Brake/gas/brake/gas/yawn/eyes close.

Video: 2 Euro-spec Mach 1s testing at the 'Ring

I realize you already know this, but I still think it's worth saying. Nothing's free. Part of the premium price on FP vehicles like the GT350 and FiST is that track day. Frankly, I really wish Ford would have "ponied up" for an e-diff in the Fiesta ST. It's a pretty cheaply built car. IMO...

Introducing the All-Electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400 Dragster, Capable of 8 Second Quarter Mile

I get bored when there's not much to do behind the wheel when driving. It's me, not the car. :giggle: I wouldn't call this boring either. It's at least interesting in a technical way - I'd like to know what parts are in there and how the programming is set up. I don't have a problem with...

MT-82 owners, what if Tremec is offered in 2021MY?

I would love to see 'ring times as well, but the specmanship wars prohibit it. The driving school is part of why the Shelbys cost more. You actually do get what you paid for with them. IMO they are worth every penny. At least the GT350 is. The Mustangs are a lot more capable but the FiST...
