I faced the same issue a couple years ago, albeit it was with an ecoboost. I had similar mods that led to this same problem, catted downpipe, CAI, tune, etc. When I first installed the downpipe, I had no tune and put the O2 sensors on like normal, which was fine for a while but eventually got a...
Yeah thatās pretty normal. It used to be worse for me because Iām in the habit of parking with the parking brake engaged, of course, but Iāve started to not use it right after Iāve washed. Iām sure youāve noticed that after washing, the rotors and everything have a good amount of surface rust...
Iām no expert with this stuff, but if youāre bogging and the tires arenāt spinning, I donāt see why the solution would be to launch at even lower RPM. I would think youād want to keeping raising it and see what happens as far as getting better times, as long as you still arenāt spinning.
Iāll also note, while many with GTās and AE are happy with X/H-pipe resonator deletes as well, I have seen more people complaining that the sound ends up more tinny or metallic sounding and not as deep when compared to people who do the same mod on the Mach 1 AE. Not sure if any of those people...
Wow you guys are all too old! Haha just kidding, but exhaust sound is all super subjective. I was happy with the stock Mach 1 exhaust, and still would be if I had left it alone, but that doesnāt mean I wouldnāt also be happy with changing things. First went to an H-pipe, and again was very happy...
True, most things are done to cut costs and Iām assuming thatās what happened here. But whatās interesting is the Pirelli Trofeo RS looks to be about $100 more per tire than the Michelin Sport Cup 2. I know thatās pricing for the consumer and Iām sure a deal was worked out to use them on the DH.
Pretty sure theyāre 180tw, the same as the Sport Cup 2ās on the HP Mach 1. Not sure why Ford went back to Pirelli on the higher performance Mustangs like they did when the S550 first came out before switching to Michelin. I canāt speak specifically about the Trofeo RS of course, but my...
On my ā17 Ecoboost I had almost 53,000 miles. A few issues, driver heated seat stopped working, Evap purge valve I fixed myself once and was replaced by dealer another time, common A/C issue fixed by dealer, rear calipers were partially frozen which meant that for a while my emergency brake...
Just as Evolvd said, I find it interesting whenever I see these threads considering the ones posting them are using the internet. The information that Ford gathers from your car is nothing in comparison to what most of us voluntarily give up to use anything on the internet. The age of technology...
For one, your statement that S550ās have had almost 0 issues isnāt correct, no car is ever perfect. And while maybe Ford didnāt have to make major changes to improve anything throughout the life cycle, they definitely do make things better over time. I canāt say this as a confirmed fact because...
Not sure I agree with this statement. Engineering is always making changes. parts numbers change JXXXZ-5325-A-B-C-D and so on...
Name a few on S550s.
For one, your statement that S550ās have had almost 0 issues isnāt correct, no car is ever perfect. And while maybe Ford didnāt have to make...
I agree with you that there will likely be further discounts down the road, but if prices continue with the current trends then in a couple years thousands below MSRP could still be more than no discount right now. Hard to say for sure, I find it crazy when I see early GT350 window stickers that...
I agree, and I wouldāve been 100% fine leaving the exhaust stock if I were required to. But I guess I also just like being able to hear it more and since I had the opportunity to make changes I did. But I also understand why for some people it may just be too loud, not everyone likes the same...
I guess itās because Iām young, but I have long tubes (catted) and an H-pipe resonator delete with the stock active exhaust and absolutely love the sound. Before the headers I used to always drive in track, and even after them I was convinced Iād still want as much sound as possible. I will...
Yeah, Iām 23 and I also do not at all like the iPad stuck on dash look, especially not in the mustang. Maybe Iām biased but I much prefer the look of the S550 interior. For one, I think the retro look fits this car much better than a modern one. And two, talking about the screen alone, just the...
Stupidly enough, itās not covered by a TSB. No idea why, because itās obviously a design flaw being that itās such a common issue, and that they continued using those flawed parts for several years knowing it was a problem. Luckily I had an aftermarket warranty that covered that repair, so I was...
Yeah, sounds like your AC evaporator core is going out. Iām sure youāve seen a lot about this, but itās super common. I had mine replaced last summer on my 2017 also, and it was similar where is seemed to be working ok but I noticed a weird smell like that. Progressively got worse until the...
Hi guys, requesting some help. Iāve been installing headers, and the other day when I was taking things apart, I saw this heat shield had fallen but I never saw what it came from, somewhere on the passenger side. When I look up the part number on google, there are no results. Any ideas?
