Iāve been on the hunt for some new track wheels. The original plan was to use the OEM 19x8.5ā Polished Aluminum wheels (255/40-19) for the street and LMRās SVE 19x10ā PP2 replica wheels (285/35-19) for the track.
As these things go, I fell in love with the look...
@BlownGP Remember this from my post above:
I will note that I had to take the hex nut off the [separator] bolt to get it to fit. To keep the separator from slipping off the ball joint, I threaded the ball joint nut on backwards to allow the separator to "grab" better.

In the previous post, when I replaced my windshield washer hose I accidentally dropped one of the hood insulation retainers down the front of the engine. In an effort to try and find it, I was underneath the car trying to see if it was resting on the under belly...
Yes, that tool works perfectly for the lower control arms, including the one with the air deflector. Iāve used it twice: first time on the initial install of the FP Lower Control arms, and then again recently to replace those (bad ball joint) with the Steeda tension link with the spherical...

In post #108 I replaced the Ford Performance hood strut fender brackets with the better fitting Redline Tuning brackets. With the Ford Hood struts I didnāt have to do anything special with the windshield washer tubing mounted to the hood. Maybe because the...
Wow, it blows my mind how such a seemingly un-related thing could adversely affect another part of the system.
For me, my issue was a dirty MAF sensor. Once I hit it with some MAF sensor cleaner, my AdvanceTrac errors when away. Granted, I had the DTCs that indicated some type of MAF issue, I...
Install was pretty easy. I previously purchased a ball joint separator when I replaced the stock GT control arms with the PP1 versions with the air deflectors, so I was glad I invested in the right tool for the job.
I used a wire brush to remove the old loctite from the frame bolt and used...
Just installed them yesterday. Only difference so far is that I donāt have the āclunkā from the bad ball joint anymore.
Iāve got a date with Texas Track Works in a week and a half for them to install Vorshlag camber plates and add in some additional negative camber.
I havenāt scheduled another...
I agree, all three look great. I'm kind of partial to the Apex Anthracite wheels, but I'm trying to reserve both Apex sets for the track and stick with the SVE SP2 19x10 wheels for the street.
After my last track day I noticed that I had a bit of a āclunkā when hitting the brakes. Turned out to be a bad ball joint (I use ALL of the track which includes the rumble strips and curbing).
So, today I replaced my front upper control arms (tension links) with a set from Steeda with the...
Yesterday I picked up 2 sets of Apex SM-10 19x11ā wheels from @RandomTask (your Mach 1 is amazing sir!) and today I tried on the new shoes!
Washed the car and did a quick photoshoot of the current wheels as well as the new sets š
No noticeable oil usage and Iām 100% stock on the engine tune.
Regardless of what originally came with my car, I canāt ignore the fact that when I ran the 6509 heat range 6 plugs I ceased to experience the random misfire codes on my last two track days.
Also, itās interesting that the NGK 6510...
Because I thought that my track day random misfire codes were due to the large spark plug gaps (and not a difference in heat range) I gapped the 6509s to the minimum .049ā
