Fingers crossed - last update was Friday and the dealer still hadnāt torn it down yet- too much other work in the shop. I asked about the short block situation they mentioned and asked how they planned to deal with damage to the head⦠wait and see, but will replace what they need to replace...
I like track mode because the Magneride is most firm in that mode and thatās really it. I figure the suspension is ready to work anytime, and there isnāt really a penalty in any perspective I can see. If the roads are bad for an extended period or if I have passengers Iāll run sport or normal...
Weāre not on the carbureted 1970ās any longer⦠Multiple oil analyses show healthy oil well beyond 7500 miles, but you spend your money however you want.
Oil was sprayed all over the passenger side of the engine bay as well - Iām not sure how the oil supply passages are set up in the 2.3 block, but it could be something like that happened too. When I was watching it idle after the failure, there were lots of oil droplets flying around - escaping...
FP tune was installed in May of 2020 with 22k miles on her. I've pounded on her pretty regularly but not in an abusive way. There will be a few times per week that she sees an honest WOT for a few gear changes, but that's not crazy stuff. The warranty I bought is 8 yrs / 100k miles - I...
I was driving in Track Mode and 75-ish is right on the cusp of the 9/10 shift. I kind of remember the downshift, but it may also have been the shudder from the pop. Everything happened in like half a second.
I've been religious about the 93 - the only time I couldn't vouch for what was in the...
2018, EBPP, 58k miles, bought new by me. Oil changed every 5-6k miles, always synthetic, always 93 octane. FP tune installed by a dealership.
Was about 2 hours into a road trip last Friday when the engine failed running down I-45. Car was in adaptive cruise control at 75mph, 10th gear, and...
Update - switched the Apple cable back to the spare cable (LAX branded āApple approvedā) and the problem is back. Will try the Anker cable on the drive home tonight. Sooooo frustrating.
OK, update and maybe a solution. Multiple attempts to refresh / reboot did nothing, and it got to the point that any sort of nav - even the Ford nav - would cause Sync to start locking up, skipping, buffering, whatever you want to call it. This would display as a frozen map on the screen and...
Oh, crap! I've had two sets of the Zeons and currently running the 305/30's - they've been great all-season tires. Doesn't look like Cooper has a 30-series tire on their website now, so after this set will be back to the drawing board. I'm in the same boat with winters that get down well...
Search wasnāt finding any relevant results, so here goes. For about a month now, CarPlay has had occasional problems connecting to my iPhone 13, and is now regularly seeming to skip or buffer while listening to audio and using Waze. Audio from Patreon or Apple Podcasts seem ok if I never use...
I installed the Brembos on my EBPP and kept the base GT master cylinder. I like it better than the 4-piston setup I replaced. The base GT brakes are really pretty good for normal driving, and the pedal response was really fast. The Brembo setup is more sensitive at light pedal so I notice it...
I've got a clunk sound in the driveshaft / differential of my 2018 EBPP, and it appears to be slop in the driveshaft at the rear u-joint. Assuming these cars actually have u-joints - there is a cover over the joint that I didn't remove to see what was going on. I can turn the driveshaft...
If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, they have a selection of the plastic rivets that are cheap enough to replace on a single-use basis. Auveco (I think) is the OEM supplier and also sells them cheaper than Ford. Just other options for you if you're not R&R'ing on a frequent basis.
Replaced a rear wheel bearing, balanced and rotated the tires, and found out that I had a bent wheel. Thankfully I had a spare wheel, but now Iāve got to get the bent wheel fixed or find another spareā¦
š those are generally my favorites⦠some get more wrist time than others, though. Over half of these are projects and I tend to wear those most since I have an emotional investment in them. Some projects are from scratch, others are more like restorations of great old watches, and some are...
