Strange request from the Ford dealership

Given that OP hasn’t replied, he’s either a troll, or in fact, a bitch. I’ll go with the latter. Applies to both scenarios well.

Po300 code randomly after 6-8k rpm

Sorry for the delay. Have been traveling to pick up an RV. I traced the wires and found out it was a pinched wire that was shorting out right where it bends coming out of the connector. If I had to guess, it’s likely the CPS wire being pinched (I’ve broken 3 and helped numerous others). It...

2020 GT350R Heritage Build Thread (Twin Turbo)

Run a Peterson breather can and vent the crankcase to atmosphere. You don’t want that crap going back into the intake. It’s never 100% effective.

MGW short throw vs. Steeda GT MT-82 Tri-Ax Race Short Throw Shifter

There's absolutely zero sloppiness with the Tremec + MGW. Not sure you could get a better trans outside of going to dog teeth.

Getting the GT350R dialed in for Sebring

I haven't run Sebring specifically, so can't say I've measured tire temps there but do agree that -1.7-2.0 camber is definitely on the light side. If you street drive a good bit, it's a decent compromise. But for track oriented use, I wouldn't go any less than -2.2. And the car is happiest north...

Getting the GT350R dialed in for Sebring

This isn't entirely true. It'll depend on the grade of bolt, the amount of stress bolt sees, and a myriad of other factors. While a good set of camber plates is ideal for many reasons, the BMR camber bolts are very strong and a great option. I've yet to see one fail and most of the heavy duty...

Side note: I'm looking for a used trailer toad if anyone has a line on one. If you know of any used ones for sale, please send me a PM! http://www.trailertoad.com/

Were they new at that point? I should have clarified that they put the new ones out for those races. They fully remove them once they get worn down. Most of the time I'm on track there, they're in place, just worn down a lot so I drive like they're not there :)

Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Build and Adventure Thread

That sounds like a blast. I actually prefer the Miata on smaller tracks. HB is just too fast and you spend too much time braking and managing weight. Where the Miata is wide open all the time. And you can really “toss” it around. It was even surprisingly fun at COTA. But I’ll stick to HB if I...

Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Build and Adventure Thread

Oh yeah. My goal is to slowly work my way towards a bastardized version of a V8 super car for time attack--including the "stick" sequential gear box :) Hopefully will end up with a true monster of a Voodoo putting down 700+ to the wheels with the help of some NOS, high compression pistons...

Not this go round. Still waiting on more testing of the current cam offerings and then some of my own testing to get some of the other bits right (such if I'll be keeping the VCT delete or not). If I do keep the VCT delete, I'd likely profile the cams specifically for VCT delete and likely use...

Just spoke to Tim this morning regarding HB's motor. Pistons are in coating and then assembly. If that goes smoothly, 1-2 weeks hopefully. Starting to get itchy since I'm sure there will be some bugs to iron out on the dyno with the VCT delete and COTA days start back up in March.

    Front OEM Brake Pads

Interesting, looking at the SmartyCam stream in AIM's software, I don't think I can send the lateral/longitude data to the SmartyCam. Hmmm. Looks like I need to contact AIM.

    Front OEM Brake Pads

Yeah, i'll bet that's the case. I'll have to open up the settings and see what channel it's using. Ideally I pull everything from the CAN bus since the Smartycam and Solo are mounted to arms that will mess with measurements

Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Build and Adventure Thread

While still waiting for the HB engine, my buddy Matt and I are getting into some light preventative maintenance on his Miata. It leaking oil out the cam position sensor, valve cover, and rear main seal, burning some oil, and the clutch was slipping. With 190k original miles, not too surprising...

    Front OEM Brake Pads

Hmmm good observation. I'd noticed that before, but never paid much attention. Your question had me curious, so I dove into my AIM file for my 2019 PB at COTA, my 2:24 lap, which illustrates the same behavior, but not as bad. So max brake pressure on this lap for T12 was 715.1 PSI while G was...

I refreshed two engines! They were fine when I took them out (mostly) 😬

Help! I am not in love with the GT350R Sound!

Correct. ARH Long tubes, catless mid pipes, their x-pipe, resonators, and then OEM mufflers. With the R exhaust (or a regular car no resonators), I think the rasp is damn near unbearable. It does pretty well above 4.5k RPM, though. But accelerating from stoplights is just brutal, IMHO.
