The g forces these cars generate will wear you out until you install 4 point or better belts. Bracing yourself against the dead pedal or seat bolsters gets old pretty quick.
It has some walls, but not where you would generally go off track. Lots of runoff or gravel traps abound.
I've been running there for several years and only saw one guy hit a wall. And he was doing what his on-board instructor told him to do...entering front straight, of all places.
Gotta try...
Thanks. I have a COTA weekend coming up in Feb, and was expecting to start at 30 psi since it might still be chilly.
My past events there were very hot ambient, so I started at 28 and found they settled around 36-37 once warmed up.
If you want to ring out that CFTP, you should bring it to COTA...
You mentioned your starting tire temps on a cold day, what temps did you see once you warmed up the tires? Did they get to 36 psi, or should you have started even higher?
As I recall, the order banks always say “material hold” until they set a production date. So that’s nothing new. There have occasionally been specific shortages (like the comfy seats were the limiting factor a while back).
Then it changes to unscheduled clean (or something like that). Snoop...
That’s good. Bug them once in a while to check the priority code for you. When it drops to a 1, things will move along and the plant will schedule for production. Nothing will happen until it drops.
But at least you are in the system.
If your dealer can’t/won’t give you a copy of the DORA, you do not have an order. They just have your money....
We’ve all been through this. There are dealers that will take your money and tell you all is well, but you never really had an order.
Also, watch the priority code. It’s likely...
Are we talking about the extra orange curbs at a few corners? I looked at my Oct event videos and at least three turns still had them.
First time I ran there 6 years ago, we were told to look out for them as they were set to keep the motorcycles from cutting the corners too much. I presume...
I have not tried to drive the cars without a fob, but the Ford Pass App or Lincoln Way App allow you to:
- Lock or unlock the vehicle
- Start to stop the engine. The A/C & seat controls go to last settings.
- Shows tire pressures, vehicle location, mileage, fuel level (and miles to empty)...
Since installing camber/caster plates is a real pain, I just went straight to Maximum Motorsports‘ version as I have used them in the past. Still have the stock plates in the garage somewhere.
The string method is easy to use. Once you have tried it, you’ll never pay a shop again.
Ford and GM paid for it:
