If you're looking to go up in the Whipple world, I'd honestly just jump straight to the new gen equipment. The Gen 5 3.0 unit makes nearly 100 extra hp at the same amount of boost compared to the gen 4. The new stuff is a total redesign and a substantial one at that. Even if you aren't trying to...
Firstly, congrats on the Whipple car! That's a tough question as you can go any which way about it. Maybe start with the wheels and tires since that will be an easy install and you're traction capable. Whether doing the installs yourself or not, \you may want to just have the headers and opg/cs...
Ahhhh the good ol' winter blend :sun:
That p1x is such an impressive blower. It makes picking between it and a D1 quite difficult for the daily/weekend street beast.
Exactly! Obviously we like our hot boi muscle cars but a Miata will teach you driving dynamics and not cost anywhere near as much. I just blew my 99' up a few months back and I miss it. There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of slinging that car around. The steering is unstoppable. Damn...
Yeah, if you can't get e85 don't fear the meth. It goes a long way in supporting more power and keeping things burning nice and cool. Ditch the meows and add LT's when you can.
At the end of the day, supercharging and road course driving can get tricky because of all of the heat that positive displacement superchargers make when being pushed. The Ford GT has been built with optimal cooling components for track use. The whole car is configured around that engine bay...
Ah understandable. I just assumed you were since you had the catless pipes. I know those ones only “recommend” a tune but I’m curious, how well does the car run without? Any codes?
Ultimately, increasing volume and keeping drone out can get tricky. Putting headers on it will increase the sound which could influence drone. Putting on aftermarket resonators will help with added drone but at the expense of decibels. It's a bit of a potential catch 22 but I'd start with long...
It's definitely worth it if you're looking to increase the power. Can't go wrong with Lund or PBD as they both tune fast, reliable cars. The real benefit to going with an aftermarket tune is that you can go ahead and add some long tubes in and get rid of the meows. We have Texas Speed Headers...
Either of those exhausts are a good option for exactly what you're looking for. You'll likely be happy with either. Out of the two, I personally prefer the Corsa.
To sustain 1000rwhp you will definitely need to build the short block. It will 100% handle it but you're on borrowed time the whole time. To get anywhere near the 1k wheel mark on pump you'll also need to have methanol. Swap to a bigger head unit and get a return fuel system as well.
