Because the APIM was engineered to accept only 2 USB inputs due to the current draw of multiple devices.
So, you have the dual local USB A version and the single local USB A version with remote USB A. On Mustang the remote location is under the Start/Stop button.
That's an engineering number, not a part number. Order a HC3Z-19A387-F
The blue lights are not that bright though. They're the same as what you probably have.
You will lose functionality of the USB port that is under the Start/Stop button. The APIM can only accommodate 2 USB connections. In addition, any media module with a G prefix will not allow CarPlay.
Our kits maintain Ford Pass and add drive modes plus the full functionality of Sync 3.4. Itsās as close as you can get to an official swap from Ford. Working in product development at Roush and Ford, we may know a thing or two š
We are waiting for a quote to offer Mustang specific brackets, unfortunately, they wonāt be cheap.
Ford didnāt abandon the S550. They simply werenāt going to invest in the electrical architecture that is required for Sync 4/4A in a car that already had its MMC and was due to be replaced in less...
If youāve had it for 4 years itās hard to say which version of Sync 3 you have. Several companies in the US and China (eBay sellers in particular) are downloading software to run 3.4 on warranty turn in 2016-17 APIMs. Incredibly stupid idea for a business, but itās cheap and you can get by...
Itās not a configuration data issue. The antennas work fine for awhile and then they crap out. Most kits from China are using software hacks and even though some of those parts look genuine they arenāt.
The issues that you guys are having with the maps going off course is because of the aftermarket antennas. Even a high quality Trimble antenna, which is what we used from 2017-2019 will not work properly with Sync 3 APIMs.
Iām not sure who you bought that kit from but it should have included new USB cables. The way you have it connected isnāt correct. You also purchased an old APIM (2016 or 17) which are known to have issues. I hope you received some kind of warranty.
