  1. What did you do to your Aussie S550 today..

Wheels off detailing is surprisingly enjoyable......................for me anyway..............so I'm not going to talk you out of it. You will need an iron remover of some sort for this task (IronX, Purge, Iron Buster ect.), some All-purpose-cleaner and a selection of brushes. Use the APC to...

If you can't get Hyde's in the UK, Bilt Hamber make a similar product called Atom-Mac - Atom-Mac - Bilt Hamber
  3. What did you do to your Aussie S550 today..

If the car was not driven and stored in a dry environment, then yes it would last the winter. I would have the car positioned where it's going to sit for that period and then apply so that the pads don't wear it off.

You just need the Pressol bottle and label to complete the effect! Pressol Household Double Action Sprayer 500ml/750ml (detailingshed.com.au) Obsessed Garage Pressol Household Label (detailingshed.com.au) The Hyde's only stops rust from forming while the rotors are drying after the wash...
  5. What's In DFB's Cabinet?

I fully understand dealer detailing would not be for me, that would probably be the highest level of detailing drudgery and I know it would kill the magic for me. We sort of joked that they would have to call customers to tell them that the car was serviced, but the detailer won't be finished...
  6. Pressure Washer for "Foam Cannon"

In a technical sense, you are not overkill on this, it's generally the correct thing to do. I have a number of the PF22.2 bottles, occasionally I will store soap solution in a bottle with a cap on for use at a later date. There has been some suggestion that soap left mixed up in the bottle can...
  7. Pressure Washer for "Foam Cannon"

Thats the only thing that the PF22 does wrong, and certainly an advantage the competitors have over it. This is not something they can readily change without MTM redesigning the whole thing. I have three foam cannons, all have a small filler opening. The one on the left is the latest...
  8. What's In DFB's Cabinet?

Last day off. :frown: With the XR6 in for the 90,000km service for the umpteenth time (with 31,309km on the clock), I settled into a rinse-less wash of the Mustang. No photos of the process, I was too wound up in the podcast I was listening to about a 22-year-old guy killing it at running his...
  9. Pressure Washer for "Foam Cannon"

Definetly order another foam cannon. As mentioned, the foam quality generated by those supplied pressure washer foam cannons is thin and watery. I have been there and done this. You don't have to spend crazy money either, plenty of affordable foam cannons on Amazon - Amazon.com : foam...
  10. Dawn Dish Washing Detergent As A Strip Wash

Using dishwashing detergent to "strip" or remove wax has been a pet hate of mine for a long time. Those that do use it, usually do so along the lines of "I don't need to buy some fancy soap to strip wax when I can just use some cheap dish washing detergent". This video explains why using dish...
  11. What did you do to your M1 today

Or, just tell her what they are for real. I mean, and I am making a wild stereotypical statement here, but I'm sure she doesn't feel the need to justify or explain that new pair of shoes, fancy clothes or expensive jewelry to you. I really don't know why men play along with this finger...
  12. What's In DFB's Cabinet?

Relaxed day of rinse-less washing while listening to podcasts and music. The only thing annoying me was the smoke generated by a neighbors wood fired heater. We had a cool change here over the last couple of days, not enough that warrants a wood fire burning green wood and smoking out the...

Thank you for the research, certainly more to it than meets the eye. As for Bowden's, you read my mind................it's next in line. :giggle:
  14. Oil Change Interval

Penrite have a number of 5W-30 oils in their lineup, just be sure that the one you choose meets or exceeds Ford's specification. The oil I linked was the one that came up as the preferred choice on the Penrite oil selector website.
  15. Oil Change Interval

A very experienced, independent mechanic once told me to choose an oil and then stick with it for the rest of the engine's life. While many will say that oils like 0-20 or 5-30 are only chosen for fuel economy, and to a degree that is true, but it's also important for the VCT system. Having...
  16. What's In DFB's Cabinet?

We wouldn't want to be cleaning exposed nuts in public would we? You would probably use a smaller brush for nicer wheels with recessed lugs. Something like this - DETAIL FACTORY PREMIUM BOAR'S HAIR DETAILING BRUSHES Long Handle (Grey (detailingshed.com.au) I reckon this brush would...
  17. What's In DFB's Cabinet?

Interesting day! Two deliveries arrived this morning as I was preparing to wash the Ranger. :like: The first of which was an impulsive, late-night purchase. They were on sale; how could I resist? https://store.primefinish.com.au/collections/wowos-detailing-products Wowo's came to...
  18. Show and Shine... Post your ride

To save you trawling through hundreds of posts, most of what I use or recommend is summarized in this thread, updated as needed - DFB'S LITTLE BLACK BOOK OF DETAILING 2022 | 2015+ S550 Mustang Forum (GT, EcoBoost, GT350, GT500, Bullitt, Mach 1) - Mustang6G.com
  19. Holiday Project Four - Decontamination, Polishing & Coating a Ranger Wildrack

For your preferences, I would probably stick with Perl. DarkSide has a wetter sheen to it.
