  1. Favorite stripe package.

The only one I ever liked was the black over gold on the 1970 Mach 1. I haven't liked any stripe on any of the new ones.
  2. 3.55 Rear End 2018 GT PP1 A10 5.0 Torsen?

Very first line of the original post (from 4 years ago): "Is the 3.55 Rear End 2018 GT PP1 A10 5.0 a Torsen?"
  3. 🚀 World Premiere: 7th Gen Mustang S650!!

Like the engine, ambivalent about the tail, don't like the nose, despise the screen. Seriously, I hate all the damn screens and touchpanels they're putting into cars. Sure, the engineers probably love not having to run multiple wiring harnesses around the car, but needing to stop looking at...
  4. So are ‘22 GT buyers now looking like geniuses…

So, the goal is to die peacefully in your sleep like your grandfather, instead of screaming in terror like his passengers?
  5. Any reason not to remove my surfboard sized engine cover on my 5.0?

In an Otto cycle engine, work is produced as the piston moves downward, extracting energy from the fuel/air mixture. The expansion is assumed to be adiabatic and reversible. The expansion across the cylinder volume defines a fixed energy lost in the exhaust gas temperature above the...
  6. Any reason not to remove my surfboard sized engine cover on my 5.0?

Not really. The engine runs more efficiently at a higher cylinder head temperature. What benefits do you think a lower temperature would provide? That being said, mine came off in the first week, because I prefer the look without it.
  7. V8 potential problems coming? [ADMIN WARNING: *** NO POLITICS ***]

No, no, no. We've passed a law saying it will happen, so it will happen. The fact that it hasn't happened yet is because those damn engineers haven't magicked massive scale storage systems into place the way we have demanded.
  8. V8 potential problems coming? [ADMIN WARNING: *** NO POLITICS ***]

It was (and is still) not. This was when I worked for them over 30 years ago.
  9. V8 potential problems coming? [ADMIN WARNING: *** NO POLITICS ***]

Veterans with PTSD, people with long term chronic issues, the deaf (http://tinyurl.com/sjcfbtnu), the poor (http://tinyurl.com/5f8a83zy) and, coming soon, the mentally ill. Yeah, health care to die for.
  10. V8 potential problems coming? [ADMIN WARNING: *** NO POLITICS ***]

Since we're talking about large scale layoffs at companies that are having fiscal issues, your assumption doesn't seem to apply in this case. I'd certainly call it a reason not to take business advice from the Germans. Probably wouldn't want to take energy policy advice from them either, for...
  11. V8 potential problems coming? [ADMIN WARNING: *** NO POLITICS ***]

A large company I worked for in the past would occasionally have large layoffs. Everyone on the production floor was holding his breath as the superintendent brought one person after another into his office all day, which was a miserable experience for both people in the room. Then, just as...
  12. I've never been a fan of launch control ...

Yes, the ZF 8-speeds use a TC with a locking feature.
  13. I've never been a fan of launch control ...

Yes, with a ZF transmission. And we all know how ZF units pale in comparisson to those from Ford and GM.
  14. I've never been a fan of launch control ...

... but this exceeds my worries.
  15. Officially filed a lemon law claim through BBB Auto Line. What can I expect in terms of the possible outcomes?

My wife had what the GM rep said was the first car in Massachusetts returned under our lemon law. At the time, we got her original purchase price, less 1% for every 1000 miles on the odometer. Had to jump through hoops for a few months, and they settled the day before we were supposed to have...
  16. Look what I discovered in my 22! 🤨

Minutia times millions of cars equals something the manufacturers can use to get points against the increasingly ridiculous requirements of the secular religion that our elected morons stuff into continuing resolution and reconciliation bills.
  17. Oil consumption / risk of damage

It's certainly not typical, but if pressed, Ford will tell you that it's "within normal". BMW used to insist that anything up to 1 qt / 1000 miles was perfectly normal and expected, even through it was a very unusual rate. Probably not, especially if you were doing normal street driving and...
  18. New Loud Exhaust Law

I am. Our families were inseparable while we were growing up. At the church now. A few Harleys just pulled in.
