  1. New Mach 1 prices

My local dealer has a Mach 1 on the lot and has had it for at least 6 mo. What are Mach 1 prices doing right now? Are they going for over sticker? I know used GT's are selling for crazy money on Carvana, Vroom, etc. If I can buy this car for sticker (about 56K) and drive it for free due to crazy...
  2. More story on the Mustang rented, modified, and driven to Cannonball glory

The Incredible Story of the Great Cannonball Boom When the country shut down and the highways thinned out, a stealthy group of amateur car obsessives glimpsed an opportunity to revive the fabled cannonball run—the highly daring, absurdly illegal cross-country endurance race. And in the...
  3. M82 in the 2019's

Questions on the M82 in the 2019's... Is it the same in both the GT and EB? Have there been any problems with it since the shift fork thing in some of the 18's? I ask because I'm currently lemon-lawing a Challenger and thinking of getting another Mustang but the lawyer handling my case flat out...
  4. EB PP specs

A couple questions on the EB with the PP... 1) Is it lowered from the stock height? I have a very steep driveway and stock height cars will make it but most lowered cars won't. 2) Is the ride quality significantly different from the base EB or GT? I currently have a Challenger with the Super...
  5. Mustang International Sales

Good article from Bloomberg... https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-12/how-europeans-are-saving-the-ford-mustang This graph shows Ford's problem in North America... The rest of the world is helping out, though.
  6. Traded the Mustang for a Challenger

Couldn't deal with the unresolved problems anymore... vib problem, rear end groaning when turning left, AC evap undoubtedly going to go bad after I'm out of warranty... Anyways, The Dodge dealer here gave me such a killer deal that I couldn't pass it up- 7200.00 off MSRP and 2000.00 more for my...
  7. Smoothest/quietest riding tires

It's getting time to replace the Goodyear F1's that came on my car. They are getting noisy and rough. Since the car is a DD that spends 90% of it's time on the interstate, I really want the smoothest, quietest tires I can get. I'm guessing Michelin touring tires like MXM4 or Premier? Anyone have...
  8. Mr Turbo

    great article... https://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2016/12/02/remembering-mr-turbo-per-gillbrand-1934-2016/
  9. Smoking a holiday turkey with Vaughn Gittin

This is the way to do it... [ame]
  10. New Ecoboost Maverick

Very cool... these kids did an awesome job and deserve the coolest car at SEMA award! I love seeing the passion passed down to the next generation. http://autoweek.com/article/sema-show/1972-ford-maverick-project-underdog-might-be-coolest-car-sema [ame]
  11. GT PP swap bars on a base EB

I'd like to take some more roll out of the car without increasing the ride harshness- or as little as possible. Any problem using GT PP sway bars on my base EB or is that overkill? They seem to be almost give-a-way parts in the for sale forum. Suggestions are welcome...
  12. EB base vs PP ride quality

I currently have a base EB automatic with the 18 in Foundry wheels. My only real complaint is that I hate the 3:15 axle. There is a 2016 EB PP with a huge discount at a local dealer that I'm considering. My question is how much stiffer is the PP suspension? The car is a daily driver and I don't...
  13. Local car show with some nice Mustangs

Just the little local car show here in Villa Rica, GA. Less than 100 cars but the quality of the cars was really outstanding. I'm an agnostic when it comes to cars so I've thrown in a few other brands too. Your expert test will be to name the vehicle with the green straight 6 engine and then...
  14. Ford shuts Flat Rock for a week- 32% sales drop

Interesting... With a slowing market for cars, Camaro’s inventory rose to a 139-day supply at the end of August, said Jim Cain, a GM spokesman. The incentives, coming at the end of the 2016 model year, helped lower Camaro supply to 120 days, still twice what is consider an optimum...
  15. Backfire at about 1/2 throttle...

Getting on the hwy tonight I accelerated- maybe half throttle or less and I heard two backfires and saw a decent amount of smoke behind me from the exhaust. It was momentary and the car seems to run fine- the car was completely warmed up at the time. Drove about 20 miles and no apparent...
  16. Long trip in the EB- the good and the bad

Just got back from my annual pilgrimage to our summer place in Canada- about 2200 miles. The EB is really a fantastic alternative to any of the generic economy cars. I averaged 34mpg (calculated by hand) and that includes going through the mountains of TN and KY. Speed was 70-75 most of the time...
  17. Roush appearance package on '17 V6's

This seems a bit cheesy but I guess they are trying to clear out excess parts. I'm betting they will sell quite well, though. http://autoweek.com/article/car-news/2017-roush-mustang-rs-first-roush-vehicle-under-30000
  18. fuel grades for different engines

It is well know that 93 octane fuel makes a huge difference in power in a EB- stock or tuned. It makes quite a bit less difference in a GT. Does fuel grade affect the V-6 engine in stock form or is it designed to run on 87? Anyone have any direct experience or dyno numbers for the V-6- 93 vs 87?
  19. 2017's will be here any day now

Window sticker for a car arriving at a huge Ford dealer in the Atlanta area. Shows a date of 5-27-16 on the sticker... BTW, they show 131 Mustangs in stock right now so there could be some crazy good deals coming since Ford's sales were down 25% last month...
  20. Fuel economy on tuned cars

If you guys and girls with tuned cars could chime in on your real life mpg's I'd appreciate seeing the info. I bought my EB as a replacement for my Civic as my DD economy car and haven't been disappointed. Great upgrade. I traded about 10mpg for an order of magnitude more enjoyable car. But I'm...
